DStv ON DEMAND via MWEB ADSL

Glad you're seeing something positive. My ADSL bandwidth is a little slow so I have tried downloading on my XP PC (just sits there initializing downloads, giving no clue as to status of what's wrong) and later on my Vista laptop (Says download failed, even with firewall disabled). Has anyone been given decent technical support to get beyond these problems. My experience with the support folks has been weak, with repeated suggestion like "install Media Player 11" even though my report to them says I have done this.

I'm quite keen to use the download service so that I can catch up on mised series / movies on the PC while the decoder is tuned to Desperate Housewives / Entertainment news & such.

I assume you tried this link http://ondemand.dstv.com/Help/ContactUs/ or try the on demand on dstv suppor fourms

Yes, I started a support request with DSTV using that link. Currently on email number 10 or so; to give them credit, they are trying to resolve my problem. Unfortunately the assistance offered has not been that hot and the DSTV On Demand Desktop application needs some improvement as it doesn't give any error messages or clues as to what's wrong.

Latest support feedback email from them was...

Did they really say 'illumination'? :p

I have downloaded quite a few things I missed and that wasn't on the HD PVR on demand. Interestingly, it seems the bandwidth for downloading these shows does not show up on my usage tracker at Mweb. Anyone experiencing the same? As a side issue, it is a pity the quality of the videos are so relatively low and not anywhere HD, but maybe they'll get to that later. Its good enough for watching on my laptop when I travel, though.
