Took my decoder to care centre as thought something wrong with it as catch-up not working properly. Imagine my surprise to find out Dstv is phasing out the series that they put on catch-up on the older decoders - only the new explora not affected. We must apparently go to the website to watch catch-up shows BUT this is not updated either. And no information is forthcoming and doubt they will admit to this.
They should stop spending money on lavish office upgrades and ensure their software upgrades are compatible and functioning properly.

Would have cancelled long ago but have crappy line speed and no bloody ftth or lte coverage.

cancelled mine last year - although I'm hungry for something to watch at night - I don't miss dstv at all!!

interestingly when I went to cancel my premium SD DUALVIEW PVR contract at N1 city - I was ushered outside into a white unmarked shipping container?? seems they don't want other people to see the cancellation queue?!

A few months back Catchup was blocked on the website. No problem for years. Call Centre said only PVR subscribers is allowed to view Catchup. Apparently premium subscription is not good enough.

There are 4 PVR decoders before the release of the latest one, the Explora.

(1) The SD PVR. This is the first and still without a doubt the best decoder yet released by MC. The decoder was/is (if you still have one and it is working), a view 2 (dual view), record 1, with the recorded material shared between both viewing environments
(2) The UEC and PACE HD PVR 4 tuners. Both of these are view 1, record 2 decoders.
(3) The UEC and PACE HD PVR 2 tuners. Both of these are view 1, record 1 decoders.

The SD PVR and the UEC HD PVR 4 tuner is no longer supported by MC, so on a failure, both of these decoders must be replaced.

the info on these decoders is available here. http://www.dstv.com/topic/dstv-decoder-lifecycle-20150401
