DStv Premium half-price package explained

i have been dstv free for 3years now and i am not missing it.
 
there is no restrictions, they screw us for the money. plain and simple greedy idjits..
 
Monochoice sucks balls.
Overpriced, late, **** content, loads of repeats, loads of commercials.
NO THANKS!!

Ag please. No Sports bouquet, no Movies bouquet, no Actuality bouquet, no Series bouquet, no Reality TV bouquet. But you do have half a dozen Indian bouquets - because Bollywood is just so much more popular than sports in South Africa. When MultiChoice issue statements like that it just shows they believe SA consumers are completely ignorant.

You can even find live sport at http://www.nj43.com/, so where do you see yourself in 3 years from now MR DSTV once 10MB broadband is standard?

I also gave up DSTV about a month ago ... I haven't gone through many withdrawals yet. I set up an XBMC system because I'm not sure how to set up a Netflix account just yet. I guess the most annoying thing about not having DSTV is that one has to "choose" something to watch as opposed to just letting something come on the screen. But that's easy to get past it's just a change in mindset - I now watch what I want in 1080 or 720p only - with great sound quality as well.
 
I left monochoice a while ago. Never looked back.

I watch all my live sport online, although not HD, it's perfect for me.
 
Cancelled my subscription, kalahari.com is my new best friend.

See DSTV, I can repeat as well
 
Questioned this very thing with them too. This is the response I got:

"Thank you for your e-mail.
This price increase is part of our annual price review, which is done around February/March of every year when we do our business planning for the new financial year. We believe the value of our service is continuously improving as we always look for opportunities to enhance our products and services.

We also get feedback from our customers on an ongoing basis, which we take very seriously to improve our service.
Kindly be advised that this is only applicable for subscribers who have an existing slit signal subscription. Please note that there we no longer activate this service for new subscribers, only maintaining it for the customers who currently have it.

We have posted this information on the website for their perusal, with reference to the price increase as follows:

Pmm R 278.80
Mndst R 346.20
R 625.00"

Simply install PseudoTV and you will have an automated channel system like DSTV, on your XBMC box...

That figure of R346.20 is different to the R300 reported in the myBB article

yes the two greyed packages total R578.70 gainst R625 for the full bouquet. which would be the R46 difference.
