An increase in the price of DStv Premium is possible if there is an improvement in the South African economy and people receive significant salary increases.

This is word from MultiChoice CFO Tim Jacobs, who spoke to Techcentral about the company's plans with DStv Premium.

DSTV Premium affordability is certainly a big issue, however those that can afford DSTV Premium and have still cancelled are most likely enraged by MonoChoice's greed and have decided that the middle finger is the only thing that MonoChoice is capable of comprehending.

Yes, they seem very stuck on the idea of affordability and are blind to perceived value. Just because I am able to pay for something doesn't mean I am automatically inclined to. Similarly, a price freeze doesn't immediately make the service better value for money. They just don't get it.

Multichoice seems to display behaviour which suggests that their operational model is to milk whoever they can for as much as they can for as long as they can. The difference in 2019 is that the cows can choose to leave. Personally, I welcome their average spend per user declining combined with higher (lower tier) subscriber numbers. It means they are having to work that much harder.

So tired of DSTV reporting. What bonuses did the DSTV management get? Make Premium cheaper or start thinking of only giving sport channels. That what most people want anyhow. Agreed Spotify + Netflix much cheaper. You can even add Amazon prime and get away cheaper.

I currently have YTP (family plan, R110).
Netflix standard hd R139
Showmax (R60, vodacom deal thing).

Cost is around R310 and well worth it. Means I am paying R920 for internet and entertainment.
I could easily kill showmax as I hardly use it.

Maybe one has to physically drive to MonoChoice in Randburg with one's device and use their wifi to download series episodes and movies, in which case one should always choose highest quality to reverse-rape MonoChoice via their wifi interface.
