DStv Premium prices from 2000 to 2014

$60 in the USA gets you 250 Satellite channels, Internet and a phone package.

No matter how the numbers are portrayed, they still feel overpriced and sick compared to the value that can be obtained elsewhere.

Loyalty only lasts so long and then it is gone forever!

The increase is in line with inflation. But since 2000 we also got internet (extra expense) cell phones (extra expense) toll roads (extra expense) petrol price hikes above the inflation rate. So something has to give and I guess DSTV is a luxury. The mere increase in the number of cheaper options confirms it.

Cancelled our subscription today.
Can't wait to be dstvfree!

What other option is there?
SABC is useless, as is Etv.
Haven't tried TopTV, but heard from someone that has it that they repeat programs even more than DSTV.

never had it - so always been free

but why don't you guys legally share with a neighbour , using Xtraview. I have seen a mate with almost a 100m heartbeat cable across to his neighbour....R400 each is a lot better

This is what happens...
People go all postal over this forum (and elsewhere) and DSTV gets cancelled...
They then get a lekker salary increase later in the year, and Christmas is coming soon....
Before November DSTV is switched on again, and Multichoice knows this will happen, so they don't really mind if you say bye... all they say is "Bye for now, you'll be back, you can't get away from us once we've had you"

This only applies to people that don't find a DSTV replacement.

And that is generally the brain-donor public.. people who stick with DSTV regardless, in my experience are the ones who are too stupid to understand how to set up ADSL, and phone me to come out for printer issues (ink finished)

The only reason why I still have mine, is for the sport

How do you define "legal?" Probably not criminal but quite likely against Multichoice's terms and conditions.
