DStv prices increase next month

I know... I was just pointing out that you can get uncapped for way less than R2400. :p

The rest was for everyone else benefit who does not need the sport. :D

Ahhhhhhhhh :D, ya 999 for that axxess offer looks sweet, some okes pulling 800gb a month

There should be no increases. The inflation rate is no excuse. The cost per customer should come down as they get more customers. I think it is simply the fact that they are still a monopoly that makes them dare to increase prices. I will likely cancel soon, go for a msaller package, until alternatives are available at a good price.

Bunch of thieves, just cannot wait for ODM to come online than DSTV can go get stuffed.

I'm just saying, I think it's a bad idea to upset 19 subscribers, and lose 1 customer completely out of 20 People, all for a measly extra profit of 40 bucks per 20 people.

TBH, they have been increasing the price of the premium package by R30 every year now. I"ve got DStv since 2005 and I started with the R399/month in 2005. Now, its R529/month. I just blew that yesterday at the mall. Fueled the car with 100 bucks, Short trip to Spur (R160), before the movie (R48x2) with some pop-corn and that crap cola (R70)....400+ bucks...sooooooooooo.....no need to complain on my side....

And no, I'm not going to the pub to watch a game. 6 pack = R35, at the pub, it'll be like R95....plus some chow......

there is no way I'm cancelling my subscription, especially with the Formula One season starting this month....:D

Imagine someone who earns R16,000 a month - which isn't terribly good - but in SA terms its probably good - this is roughly R100/hour - so for six hours of the month, they'll be working for Multichoice :)

20 Subscribers R500:
20 x R500 = R10000

DSTV: "NOW LET's INCREASE PRICES!!"

19 Subscribers R530: (1 decided "fsck this")
19 x R530 = R10070

Wow! Massive difference there!
So Upset 20 customers only to get a measly 70 bucks extra out of them? :erm:

Multichoice - Do you REALLY think you are doing the right thing here?

Does anyone know if it is possible to subscribe to MNet using a DSTV decoder, or have it added to an entry level dstv Package?

Ive been without DSTV for 6 months and truthfully said, i dont miss it a single bit. Next to go is drinking and smoking seeing the increase we got smacked on sin taxes. Ill follow this by selling my vehicles and riding a bicycle\walk as petrol is increasingly becoming expensive.

Some other initiatives i implemented due to the eskom debacle, i sold my geyser and pawned all my electrical appliances - pc/fridge excluded. I only use candles for light. I braai enough meat twice a week with a big pot of pap to last a few days.

I wash my clothes in my bath water and brush my teeth in the top of the toilet. I collect rain water for special occasions.

TIA and im living the life without DSTV :p

are you also typing this post from you bicycle powered laptop?

What would Multichoice do if at least 25% of their subscriber base decided to cancel in the same month?

You can get after hours 4 mb uncapped specials for R999.00. Sure it is a little bit more than DSTV... but you get all the TV you want... at the same time as what they show it in the USA. :)

Add another R80.00 for an account with an international news server though... best way to get the episodes...

details here

Exactly what I'm going to do, I already pay R500 for internet so I will be saving R50 which I can put into my savings box :D
