DStv prices increase next month

Ugh...it's on a R30 but it is R30 on top of everything else......................then again what are the options?
State TV? Fukk that!

grrrrrrrr
the proposed nudie channel better be free then!

Multichoice know they can rape their higher-end customers, coz there are no other alternatives. That's why price increases are affecting the high-end packages only. On the lower end of the scale, they will definitely lose out if they have to increase.

All the extra moola is probably going to subsidise the new porn channels.

Can't DStv just develop a Sport Only bouquet....this is getting ridiculous

i wouldn't mind so much if WE didnt have to do their f'ing end user testing on their HDpvr.
still grates me.

They could, but for R499 a month, would you take it? (The main cost/perceived value is for the sport, certainly not for 2/3 year old re-runs)

Very good point there, I just hate the feeling of getting shafted every which way...

Sport is their main selling point and also costs them the most money. So you guys who do not watch sport but pay 600 rand are actually helping fund the sporting side of dstv.

can't wait untill 4MB uncapped is affordable!! get a mate who starts a media server....10 guys club in and pay the subscription LOL
All streaming sports from one subscription....it's imminent.

or just get it here for 250 bucks per year...

In a world where the price of things like this keep coming down how do DSTV justify the price going up? I wish the government would just realize they can't regulate anything and just open up all markets with uncomplicated regulations and no licensing costs and let supply and demand determine prices. We might see some decent competition and prices that the average Saffer can afford.

Sorry what world are you living in where things come down?

I live in SA and very rarely do i see pricing decreases. I never see a decrease in salaries either unless the company is in trouble.

TBH, they have been increasing the price of the premium package by R30 every year now. I"ve got DStv since 2005 and I started with the R399/month in 2005. Now, its R529/month. I just blew that yesterday at the mall. Fueled the car with 100 bucks, Short trip to Spur (R160), before the movie (R48x2) with some pop-corn and that crap cola (R70)....400+ bucks...sooooooooooo.....no need to complain on my side....

And no, I'm not going to the pub to watch a game. 6 pack = R35, at the pub, it'll be like R95....plus some chow......

there is no way I'm cancelling my subscription, especially with the Formula One season starting this month....:D
