DSTV problems?

I've just dried and baggied it for now ..... will probably take ages to dry out though, but ja, if it works by morning then bring on the duct tape ...... if not, bring on Teljoy.
 
My dish is very high up (1m above the roof) and my ladder too short & the bracket is like 1m away from my roof, so it looks like I have to get the techies out to get my signal back. I'm paying to watch nothing. Who can I call out and what are their rates?
 
yeah, that's why I refuse to get those bumbling fools out ..... I'll just pay mah R99 a month and get free installation and a new decoder ....... the dish that's here is blerry ancient and all rusted and **** .... bah.

That's why I had an aluminium dish fitted.
 
what is signal strength supposed to be btw? coz I'm getting between 70 - 71% atm.
 
It should be on the same screen as signal strength.... which decoder do you have M_H?

GTi : you need to check your cabling, and your LNB... sounds like you have an issue there somewhere.
 
eish, for the last half hour now it's on that blue+white screen with "Waiting for NIT acquisition" and the decoder is clicking every minute or so ......
 
Eish.. then I dunno... prob be an idea to gets a new decoder I think.... might be that your current one is dying.
 
ja, that was my 1st thought to be honest ...... poor thing's been going for like 10 years now :)
 
The only two watchable channels are 110 series & channel O until last week 137 BTV was ok, but now can't see anything. All the other channels are not watchable at all. I have DSTV Compact. Any solution?

Get DSTV Premium..I'm sure more channels would work :D
 
I have the 990 & looking to upgrade to the 1110, or HD version ( to pricy atm )
 
meh, I just bit the bullet and ordered from Teljoy (dsd 990 decoder und free installation) ........ only grrr thing is that I shall not be able to set my channels as I want to anymore :mad:
 
Sounds like the standard call center answer. If after reading everything on the chart the problem is still not solved, then its a installation or decoder problem.
