DSTV Rant Thread...

brixton : that may be the case... then MC need to start offering different bouquets. (granted I don't think they're capable of doing such because it might just be too complicated for them to implement with their useless incompetent staff)

I have sympathy for Multichoice in parts, they have to expand north of the border...else they'll simply be gobbled up by other companies.

I speak under correction but I was under the impression that they had different bouquets for the different regions in Africa( East & West and South).

Compared to International Pay-TV, DSTV's repeats are rather low. It's way better than watching the SABC channels anyway. I always find something to watch on DSTV. Wether it be Movies, series, documentries, the music channels or even news. If you dont feel like watching anything go to the DMX channels where you can listen to great music.

Did you copy this directly from a DSTV marketing campaign or did you make up this drivel on your own?

I'm guessing he has been brainwashed by the BS Multichoice disseminate.

I will do a few more checks on the "international" channels in terms of repeat numbers, but Discovery UK doesn't repeat on anywhere NEAR the same level our own version does.

my expert review...

DSTV sucks donkey balls :p

You are paying more than twice as much for a tenth of the channels that they get in the USA... seriously. Now tell me how this is Africa... seriously... what difference does that make?

How would Multichoice like it if everyone sent a photostat copy of their previous month's payment instead of a new payment each month?
Maybe then they would understand how gatvol their customers get with endless repeats!

Whahahahahahahaha ....... that is classeek :D

Well I got an email back from Multichoice... even over a weekend. So it looks like throwing a few public people in on an email does get a vague form of results.

Granted it was the usual fob off type of email of just "forwarding the complaints on to the relevant departments" BUT it is a response of some sort.

I will see where this leads, although I'm guessing nowhere really.

Because I have more sense than to think Carte Blanche will investigate the hand that feeds it, so I will therefore not waste my time.

ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHH. I've had it up to here. It seems like every Sat or Sun my decoder and activeview lose the signal. Happened now again. Signal strength reads 77% and quality 100% but the ****ing picture freezez and/or looks like a chimpanzee painting the screen with his feet. Screen message then comes on saying signal lost do not turn off as decoder will try an reaquire signal or contact call center for assistance. Well we all know just how helpful the F*cuking call center is. Even unplugging, removing smartcard and rescanning (which takes ages) yields the same result. A big fat Nada.
Anyone know what is happening? Why weekends? WHY??

Just a heads up, the new season of 24 premiered last night in the states ( 4 hr premier:eek: ) and im sure some of you would rather download it now than having to wait 6 months for dstv to screen it.

Hosehead : did you possibly have vaguely inclement weather over the weekend? and which decoder is it?
