Dstv stream problem

Yip experiencing the same bad quality with the rugby this afternoon, Stormers v Bulls.

App stopped working a few times during the week as well, had to then try and reopen the stream.

Canal+ show us how it's supposed to be done.

DSTV? Who pays to use this shyte when there are myriad other options. All you need is a VPN subscription, choose your streaming service, Amazon Prime Video/Netflix etc, choose a USA VPN and Bob's your uncle. USA Prime Video has hundreds of live TV channels including RugbyPass, UFC, current British football FIFA/UEFA games, golf tournaments, tennis, F1 TV, and this is just sport, not to mention the latest theatrical movie releases and and and.

Older people still do, it's what they've known for years.

Argue all you want about VPN and streaming options, you will end up being tech support for the person you set that up when convincing them to cancel their DSTV.

R699 is still a decent deal for premium if you share it with a friend/family and split the cost. Even more value if you devide it into 3 for a decoder package (1 x decoder and 2 x streams)

Apparently not all iptv. Can't remember if it was @BBSA who said zero buffering probs., think so, or someone else claimed that.

I’ve tried a few and I actually found a decent one for a few months, but even then it buffered occasionally at the most annoying times. Eventually they all end up hit or miss.

I'm no expert on the details, but for starters see how much local rugby etc., and any cricket they've got..

DStv sport is known as being one of the best providers in the world.

They are definitely in the top 5 because they have a lot of sport. Not ALL but a lot. I was angry they didn't show the darts championship this year but yeah.

If you compare legit with legit service they are the best because in the UK you need 3 x providers to get something similar in terms of content. Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Premier Sports. DSTV/Supersport shows all that content as a single provider for less per month.

The streaming quality is poor. Yes we know 720p most of the time. Supersport also shows less ads. WAY less if I compare it to TNT Sports or Sky. They show ads between every over in cricket. Supersport only shows ads when there are drinks breaks etc.

Hoping that will change with Canal+ now.

Wow, that's a surprise.

I don't believe anyone who says they have zero buffering ever.

In recent months I get zero buffering from BBC, but only using them sometimes.

Can definitely say that streaming via a good VPN gives a better stream. But getting the settings dead right is a study.
