DStv streaming vs international services

I don't think that the government broke Open Time ?
There is nothing stopping DSTV from doing it again.
I recall something about Open Time not allowed because of complaints by other broadcasters or something.

Its not that hard. We used to have international rugby, cricket and F1 all on free to air channels. It used to work.

EDIT: I'm taking exclusively about sport here - even though it could apply to other forms of media.

Other non live content should be sold directly or bundled in a reliable service like Netflix.
Its insane that there are movies/series that I can't buy in SA. I'm going to use other means to make those accessible in that case.

DSTV had an Open view this weekend. All Sport channels open to all packages excluding Grandstand but it included all the URC Matches, Premier League, All Internationa Cricket and Toyota Challange and then the usual others like local soccer and F1 if there was any because Motosport was also open.

Did they tell anyone?

You mean back when people paid their TV license? :p

Sports has never been a big draw for me in SA. Too much of a busman's holiday to interest me.

You mean back when there was content on SABC worth watching and thus a reason to pay a TV licence

More people watching DSTV on IPTV worldwide than in the RSA, but be careful not to be taken for a ride.
