Hi Guys/Gals

Just wanted to start a thread about this, if it exists, my bad.

Lately I cannot stream SS in HD anymore, this is with a 20mb capped line. It was fine last year when I only had a 4mb line. A Few of my friends seem to have the same problem. I've written a few complaints to Dstv, but they can't give me a legit answer, the generic "It depends on your line speed" answer is what I am getting.

Let me know if you have the same problem and let's see if we can do something about this.

I have noticed deterioration in quality of my experience in past week. Plenty of buffering on it, which was never there before. I am using a 4mb/s capped line.
 
+1, seeing the same issue. Quality has degraded a lot in the last few weeks or so. I'm on 50mb so can't be speed related.
 
Same here. Streaming used to be horrible two years ago and then they somehow fixed it...until two weeks ago. Now its very *****ty again. Not even HD on my 4MB line and lots of stuttering and buffering. Wtf have they done on their side?
 
So glad someone else also noticed this. I'm on a 10Mbps line and the quality has been bad for a couple of weeks now.
 
Yip I'm on a 10MB line and tried to watch the cricket, ghastly. I get a better stream on the SkyGo app on the iPad.

Is the app working on iOS? It doesn't on Android (for me at least). Keep getting an 'unexpected error has occurred. We're trying again" message. I can view replays though, just not live feed.

But yeah, it has been terrible recently. I have a 4mb line with plenty cap. Netflix and Youtube stream perfectly in HD so Multichoice can shelve that 'it must be your line' argument right now.
 
i have a 100Mbps fibre line and have been struggling through the supersport website to watch anything. If it loads, it pauses and then goes back in time and i see the same piece of action again and again. At the weekend i tried streaming it on an older laptop. it worked perfectly. the laptop is a lower spec than my desktop but seems to work better. the pc was connected by ethernet cable and the laptop via wifi
 
They changed their DRM on from the 8th of March. Might be the reason.
 
It's actually got so bad, I can't even see the score in the cricket. DSTV ****ed up again, seriously if only they would stop messing with it and the streaming app. It's not watchable.
 
Works 100's on my afrihost capped, 2mb line stream is SD 480p.
 
As a side note, is anyone else experiencing issues streaming SS tonight?

Wanted to watch the Bulls Cheetahs game, and now the Barcelona - Real match, but I'm just getting error upon error from both the SS and DSTV Now app.

I'm on an iPad Air (iOS 9) and 10MB ADSL.
 
Ruppy on DSTV Now broke for me as well, really hope we're not going back to the previous shyte DSTV came up with.
