DStv's embarrassing streaming limit and resolution

For Olympics, Wimbledon, Tour de France, I did very well with BBC iPlayer, and ITVX. YouTube was also a nice gap filler.

For me, for the bits I wanted to possibly watch I could make a plan no question.

The role DSTV fills is for those less "technically" minded who want an easy single place to view it all. I personally think its overly expensive for what it offers without a doubt, but there are times in the year when its value proposition to some people might be worthwhile.

No idea, it had those I wanted, and in better quality than DSTV, what I did not watch on the British services, I caught up on, on YouTube.

1080p streaming is acceptable, if it would actually work. I watched the whole women's marathon on Sunday and it felt like they could barely sustain 480. Saturday's rugby was equally bad.

If I can Stream iPlayer/ITVX from the UK at 1080p 50FPS, no buffering whatsoever, DSTV should be able to do the same or better locally.

And 1080p at 50FPS is very good. No two ways about it.

50 FPS = UK, New Zealand, Australia
60 FPS = USA, Canada

True to form for MonoChoice. Been over-compressing for decades. Even on the regular DSTV satelite packages.
Advertising Full HD when in reality most of it was 720p or upscaled horeshyte.
