DStv's one device streaming limit kicks in

Breach of contract BUT it will direct people to free streaming sites.
As for sport... It will encourage more sports bars and people will enjoy the outing after COVID.
Maybe it's a plot to destroy DStv to make an opening for the corrupt?

Indeed. I’m damn upset.

I am still puzzled by this,

“We will not limit the number of people using a login, however, we are limiting the number of people who can stream at the same time,” MultiChoice explained.

“Password sharing and piracy are challenges for streaming providers globally,” it stated.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to counteract password sharing and piracy, while continuing to bring you the best viewing experience, we will be introducing measures to limit concurrent streaming.”

as they took an executive decision to reduce the viewing experience, degrading the service agreement, their current subscribers were signed up to. To think that such a decision has been made in a boardroom to devalue the user experience is unapologetically anti-consumerism, and I am without doubt that they are already exploring options to monetise the problem they have created within their service ecosystem.

Besides, reading their snipped response it could also be interpreted that they couldn't provide a multi-user experience and hence had to limit concurrent streaming which is pointing to the service being overpromised.

All the above being excused with password sharing and piracy. Silly business.

Nice. Please can you email this to them. Add in a swear word or two then we’ll be in business.

Here is my view.

Incremental price increases are to be expected, and pending on the market or rather the economy at large that price reductions will be honoured accordingly though it is rarely ever realised, with this being said when companies renege on their agreement or their product in general (which would include its marketing, commercials, etc.) then the consumer has a right to question their ethical conduct and business practices.

This decision will ultimately result in more piracy as those cut off from password sharing now turn to (illegal?) IPTV services.
MC might think they'll score extra subscriptions from this move, but the game has moved on.
There's simply too many alternatives. Password sharing is often sited by MC for dwindling revenue, but they'll soon realize that they need to look internally for their failings.
Still waiting for that FLEX PACKAGE, BTW MULTICHOICE.

“Each DStv subscription allows you to stream on one app at a time. This means you can use the app on a maximum of four devices, with management of the devices done on the app,” its FAQ page says.
So they reduce the number of concurrent streams to one and on top of that continue to limit the number of devices...
