DStv's price conundrum

MultiChoice continues to hike DStv prices annually even as it bleeds its most valuable subscribers, despite the growing competition from more affordable video streaming services.

The satellite TV broadcaster dominated the home entertainment industry in South Africa for decades, with no real rivals to its wide range of international and local content.

Dstv will be obsolete should they lose exclusivity.
Ah shame.

I did there is only a graph with pricing but can't see th exact value somewhere between 800 and 900

Yeah, this graph is hard to read and interpret, very unclear with regards to pricing and the like.........

The broadcaster said it provided the “best local and international video entertainment offering” and provided further value with bundled services, dedicated content, rewards and savings
Lol, that is an antiquated sales pitch if I've ever heard one. It sounds like an infomercial tag line from the mid 90's.

Right on brand DSTv.

goodbye DSTV. Can't imagine they'll be around in next 10 years unless they figure out how to compete.

When we were travelling CPT to JHB and back and staying at a BnB/guest houses, it was such an archaic method of consuming media. I simply used my phone as a hotspot and let my daughter watch on my laptop Netflix.
Far more hygienic as well, no-one knows what's been pushing knobs on that remote, or where it has been.

Exactly what I do, town lodge has awesome fiber network. Just watch whatever on my phone and blom. If I want news I browse mybb

DSTV is not adapting... DSTV needs to produce shows that are of an international standard... People want to see what Netflix, Amazon etc. have on because it wows you... They are going to continue bleeding customers, because their lower packages offer what you can get on Openview for free.

Just keep in mind that R839 excludes your "extras", like explora and the fee DTSV catchup and recording. In total it is well over R1000 p/m for wash rinse repeat.
