Ja the main menu when you push the menu button, and the i-plate when you press the i key. Wondering if it looks any better than the rubbish on the DStv decoders.
oh ok. well if we push the tv guide button it brings up the channels and whats coming up next and the i button it brings up the movie name and a short description on the movies.
i did not post links, if you talking about the above post, but they are the pics of the decoder and remote. they are also on my photos in my profile.
Actually it is only from the Naspers building at the moment. Eventually it will be from all the transmitters, all on channel 50, because digital can be on the same frequency from overlapping transmitters. You cannot do that with analogue. The UI looks the same as that on DSTV. Don't understand why you think it is rubbish.
IMHO I just think the UI is looking a bit outdated.
I had a standard Sky decoder in 2002 and it could show the next few programmes on its iplate, also didn't have to wait for the info to load.
I presume you were an Mnet subscriber ? How much does that cost now ?
I think that if you got this and one of the smaller DSTV bouquets then that might be just as good as full DSTV. As long as that sports channel shows all the big games and the DSTV boquet has things like history and discovery.
update: i have had the decoder swopped twice now due to some technical errors but throughout the whole process the guys and girls from DTT/MNET/DSTV have been in communication with me.
i wanna find out now what happens after my trial year as i might consider going this route insted of just paying MNET for one channel.
Umm, I don't think you'll have much of a choice, but to go this route - unless you go for DSTV. The whole reason for the DTT trial is that M-Net is going to switch from analogue to DTT. The fact that you're now receiving 6 additional channels is that they want to give M-Net subscribers more value for money. i.e. not paying for the extra channels.
well they phoned me today to say they will come and remove the decoder from my place as in this area it seems there is poor signal reception.
every 3 days i have to phone them for the signal to be sent to the machine and as i am only testing it for them i said it was fine they can come whenever.
Milk it while you can! Do you know if the channels you've been watching will be part of the commercial trial or is there a chance they will make changes to the final offering?
