I'm en route towards owning both a US and an SA passport, and in a few years, I'll be working towards getting a UK one as well.
I'm not sure but I don't think the States allow duel citizenship.

Sure they do.I'm not sure but I don't think the States allow duel citizenship.
Example: Why do we need a Visa to go to France, yet they do not need a via to come to SA.
Surely it should be a give and take situation, and SA is not the rest of Africa.
I have dual citizenship. Suits me fine. Not really interested in how anybody feels about it.

I have US.
Son has US (and SA once home affairs gets it act together).
Wife has SA, UK/Euro and US permanent residency.
When we travel we carry three continents in our back pockets.
PS - and we may collect more in the future. Passports are the new stamps!
I missed a UK by one generationUnfortunately I don't have a dual passport.
I checked it out but my family members got here 200 years to early for me to qualify for a Dutch passport.![]()
Do I differ or more of a risk to the country because I have a SA passport.
Like they won't allow me in with my SA passport without a visa, but they will with my British. Why can they then just not let me in visa free with my SA passport, holding a different passport does not change me as a person.
(Haven't read the whole thread) BUT you do not 'choose' to keep both passports. British (EU) passport is a birthright that can only be rescinded by the queen (no matter what bob says.)IMO, people should only have one citizenship. If you are South African, then you should be fully committed to SA, not have a Lesotho, or European passport.
Just upsets me thats all, anyone here in such a situation? And could you enlighten us why you choose to keep both passports?
question
Both grand parents are dutch, they gave up there citizenship when my dad was 6months old, Heard some ware that he can clam it back because he was to young to have a say, and so if he clams it do i have a right to one ?
