Duoplus 300 Wireless network disconnects

I only click once at different router restart intervals in an attempt to locate the correct ip address. Thus far I find them as indicated above but all the options remain greyed out.

Which img file do I use to flash. There is a 3 mg one in the root directory of the rar tile.l,along with a small config IMG. There is an alt img file in one of the directories in the same rar file

Lastly, how do I use the text you posted to reset the firmware... Telkom recovery seems to no longer be working...

Thanks for the help so far...

I saw this morning that the "telkom recovery" is actually a version of PCTOOLS that has been changed slightly to be more automated than the std version.

I thus changed settings in the .ini file Specifically changing where it looks for the .img file

I succeded in restoring the telkom firmware and wifi worked as usual for about 10 minutes. I then used the .ini to point the restore to the .img file of the firmware off routertech.

Log file indicates it installed fully... When I try to access 10.0.0.2 through the browser, it doesnt work. This leads me to thinking the firmware img file I was using is not compatible?

I am going to log a complaint with telkom now to try get the option to swop out the modem for something else....
I cant really see how else to get the firmware working.

I realised why PCtools wasnt working, the version I had downloaded only looked for a router on 192.168.1.1 and there was no ini file to change this.... hence telkom recovery program worked

You are correct. Routertech changes the IP to 192.168.1.1. Have you tried that? Best to use the PCTools from the website as it is more current. Telkom switches out quickly, but like I said phone first as they do a check on the router remotely, you then get a referral number and swap it out at a Telkom Direct store.

Oh... <Facepalm>

So what you are saying is that once the routertech firmware successfully updates, the new address to reach the router via telnet is 192.168.1.1?? Would this be the case even if I used the "telkom PCtools" to root?

Problem is that the pctools from the website, does not complete, no matter how much I try activate the IP with clicking on pctools at different startup times.

I have logged a complaint and they provided a reference number. I believe the only routers you are really getting now are the Netgear 300 ones which at least have "n" speeds compared to the billion and duoplus.

Only bugger up is that the telkom direct here doesnt have any modems in stock but they are making a plan for me...

Still would be keen to successfully flash the router :)

Easy way to check is to open up command prompt and enter ipconfig, goto your lan and check the default gateway address. Most of the time it is 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Haven't had a netgear modem yet so can't comment. My mother has the billion router, but it's not for me.

Is this router DLNA compatible??

I am struglling to setup my home network with TV and blu-ray.

when i tested it on my tv it worked, now after getting my lan cables all sorted out im am struggling.

Any advice?

Do not have to worry about the LED settings, you can set last year. Just make sure you do a backup. You download the HP 97 firmware?
