Durban CBD mess today

Our offices in Kingsmead had the water cut at about 2pm. Told it was due to the strike. Left at 3pm

I do have to wonder how long before companies start suing the municipality for lost income due to their unwillingness to deal with the root of this strike.

We had no power in the Queensburgh area last night. Came on then switched off about 4 times. Eventually came back on at about midnight. Apparently this morning it was off again for a while. Wonder if some sabotage is going on

Nah, the power issues aren't sabotage... the infrastructure is massively fragile after the storm though.

Hope not. The first time it came on was literally a flash then off again. Seemed as if it instantly tripped when they switched it back on. Hope we are not in for the same again tonight

I have a feeling Election week going to turn into a long weekend for many people

Was trying to figure out why traffic was messed up on the Victoria Embankment yesterday afternoon.

Came across this youtube video this morning. Love the discription

For higher pay "grade 10" as the one enjoyed the country of South Africa's veterans and in just 7days to the polls, the eThekwini Municipality and EPWP workers through damage to property, looting and other demonstrations lay their demands.

The South African Police Service (SAPS), geared up their forces and rendered injuries through their rifles loaded with rubber bullets. Mayor Zandile Gumede, promises a solid response by 10,May 2019.

Interesting that Gumede is only promissing to respond after the elections, hopefully that bites them in the ass.

Gumede is nowhere to be seen. She was advertising herself in every newspaper and street pole for the last 11 months with that dirty filthy smile.

And they will still vote ANC next week.

Related to this, it seems as if this lot have now gone and physically damaged some of the reservoirs. I know of Alverstone specifically...

The damage doesn't seem extensive, since the volume of water running out is not extreme, but still.

amateur.
Jan.
I blame Jan.

I retract my statement.
I blame Vasco.
It started with him.
If it weren't for Vasco South Africa would of eventually been a Muslim Nation after the entire population was entirely was either enslaved, massacred or forcibly converted.
Compared to West Africa and Angola South Africa had it extremely lightly as far as colonialism goes.

the water cuts is a bad move.. look what is happening here in margate!! there is a water crisis ever since the strike 4 years ago!!

For reference, the Alverstone Reservoirs pumps have been closed and the valve has been sawn off. (not entirely what this achieves really)

See! I blame Vasco.
Everybody could have been muslims and the hooligans Isis.

And now the fsckers have actually gone and bombed some reservoirs...

And all the municipality does is send out a little pr notice about how it condemns the actions...
