Hey, lets not forget that this is a human life that was lost.
The reasons are diverse and many and I agree that hijacking ain't on and that its reached ridiculous levels but instead of celebrating the death of a human being maybe our energy should be focused on healing our society of the illness that hijacking and all sorts of crime are a symptom of?

Unfortunately our energy is focused on staying alive and that's why you see this celebratory tone whenever a criminal gets what he gives.Hey, lets not forget that this is a human life that was lost.

I respect your opinion, however I will dance a jig and p1ss on this dead persons grave with unashamed glee should the opportunity arise.Hey, lets not forget that this is a human life that was lost.

Something that's close to impossible for the treehugging hippies to accept
All I'm saying is that this oke wasn't hijacking for fun, one way or another its an act of desperation ...whatever the reasons for that desperation are, killing him doesn't mean that someone else wont act similarly out of that same desperation.
So: kill em all or fix whats creating them?

There are places on this planet with worse poverty than SA but less crime.
Perhaps it is because they have a functional, quick and efficient justice system that doesn't muck about with criminals.
In SA criminals it seems have more rights than honest hard working tax paying citizens.
Maybe the answer is exactly this, no nonesense approach.
We can even go further and chop the hands of petty criminals, you know the ones that graduate to housebreaking, armed robbery, hijacking and murder.
Kid gloves is never going to work, no more Mr Nice guy is long overdue.
