Durban hijacker shot dead

"Keep the dead thugs rolling"

^^^^ Yes another one down! Sorry guys, i know it might sound 'inhumane' but i fully support the SAPS, if they dont kill them, they will kill the cops or even us.

Enough is enough, kill them all.

Have a great weekend btw:):):)

"By your measure killing every criminal is the way to overcome the crime problem in this country"

- No, that's not what I said, fewl :P
Specifically killing the criminals who kill, and who rape, is something I am in favor of.

Certain crimes - rape and murder - show that some human beings are utterly unfit to be allowed to live,
and I'm quite happy that criminals from this genre of crime, are being killed.
Oh dear. shame, the human race lost another two legged pig? **** 'em. Good. They're dead. They won't kill again.

Societies throughout history have operated the same way, when dealing with human scum who kill, or rape.

And South Africa simply can't afford to 'humanely' look after these human animals for the rest of their lives.

Whine about ethics and civilized norms when you face an enemy who feels constrained by those ethics and norms.
When facing animals, you put them to sleep, like animals.

and yeah, have a good weekend everyone :) Happy hunting :P

The point is that it has contributed exactly zero to solving the problem of crime in S.A.

Explain that to the victims.

Had they been arrested they probably woulve been released by now due to corruption and lost (stolen) dockets... if they caught red handed, kill the f***ers

it has absolutely nothing to do with desperation, they want the easy route in life, get rich quick, live the life of a gangster. They are trash and deserve to die.
Its easier for most of them (with exception to the Zimbabweans, etc) to get a job than most of us, so desperation and poverty is absolute B/S. That isnt meant in a racist manner either, its just the truth.

Hey, lets not forget that this is a human life that was lost.
The reasons are diverse and many and I agree that hijacking ain't on and that its reached ridiculous levels but instead of celebrating the death of a human being maybe our energy should be focused on healing our society of the illness that hijacking and all sorts of crime are a symptom of?

At what point and after what actions do people lose their humanity? And I agree with bwana, healing works better if you eliminate the pathogen. ;)

All I'm saying is that this oke wasn't hijacking for fun, one way or another its an act of desperation ...whatever the reasons for that desperation are, killing him doesn't mean that someone else wont act similarly out of that same desperation.

So: kill em all or fix whats creating them?

Most criminals probably act on the basis of some warped cost-benefit analysis. So increase the cost by making it a more risky occupation and crime will drop, its only logical. Also, its a zero sum game, their loss is our gain and we're all sick of crime so I say kill the scum.

I'm not saying don't punish and I'm certainly not making excuses for this guy - I'm not even suggesting that this individual would have had any consideration for the life of his victim had it come to that ...thats what makes us different, or should at any rate.
Celebrating the violent death of a criminal is a very base reaction and as a society we need to hold our leaders responsible for the current situation and together we need to find ways to change the facts.
To what degree are you willing to become the monster in order to slay it ...and what then?

Its certainly not the ideal situation and in a civilised society it wouldn't be recommended but we live in a situation that's approaching civil war, desperate times call for desperate measures.

Maybe I am not explaining myself clearly or maybe **ALL** South Africans are bloodthirsty types. Judging by the posts in this thread it certainly seems that way.
The point I am trying to make is that we should be focused on bringing the level of crime down, and no - that does not equate to bringing down the number of criminals, not at this stage. Killing this dude is just another death, sure its a death on 'their' side but thats just semantic.
The point is that it has contributed exactly zero to solving the problem of crime in S.A.
It is merely yet another death.
Celebrating that is not something that I would consider within the scope of an intelligent response ...maybe the lack of intelligent responses is why we find ourselves in the situation that we're in?

Look, I'm not trolling here and I can see that many people have an emotional reaction that is totally justified, it is an emotional subject but just think it through - murder is wrong, for whatever reason, way, way wrong. This criminal was killed lawfully by the police, the fact that lethal force had to be used is sad - at least we have the policemen and women willing and equipped to dole out that force when necessary but celebrating it?? Thats just cheap and shameful in my eyes, it IS sad that someone died, whomever they may be and celebrating it does nothing to solve the problem.

Yes we should be looking at ways to bring down the level of crime and that should be done, but, as unpleasant as you may find it, this is one of them. Less criminals = less crime. Murder is wrong but killing someone isn't automatically murder, that's the distinction that needs to be made. If the hijacker's death saves the life of one innocent person (very likely) is it justified? Unquestionably. If their death saves one innocent person the trauma of being hijacked is it justified? Maybe more debatable but I'd say yes.

Its pretty stupid to be waving ethics, morality and the 'sanctity of human life' - and other airy philosophical issues - when dealing with animal-like human beings who are clearly disinterested in anything other than exercising brute lethal force on the unwary.

Human progress did not come about from allowing dangerous humans the freedom to kill people, and spread terror..

So another hijacker and killer of the innocent is dead. From a sane philosophical point of view, all I can say is 'Good'.

Keep killing the killers, and you will eventually run out of the killers.

Then the society will operate like it should.

Until then, its hardly 'bloodthirsty' to celebrate the death of those who kill others - its a sane response to the death of a murderer and attacker of the innocent.

You have to be pretty isolated from reality, and pretty comfortable, to be waxing lyrical and exhibiting 'sadness' over the death of someone who would kill you without thinking twice about it. This isn't a 'war' - and the new corpse wasn't a soldier. It was a human being who made a decision to hurt (and kill if necessary) other humans, and live like a parasite off the work of more productive members of society.

They chose their path, and its lovely that they're dead. SA is one tiny percentage point closer towards being a safer place, because of it.

Agree 100%.

YAY!! Another one down

Have a good weekend guys, agree with all these posts, the more of these animals that get taken out the more the rest of us can live a normal life and yes, enjoy our weekends.

Well done to the cops, its a thankless job a lot of the time.
