Durban North Telkom Copper Decommission

Anybody else received any notifications that copper in Durban North is being decommissioned?

I live in Johannesburg, not Durban North, but Telkom seems to be doing this rapidly all over South Africa. There are many reports, exasperation, confusion and funny comments on Mybroadband news and forums, eg:

I'm lucky so far have not received any notifications that copper in my area (Amanzimtoti) is being decommissioned.
