You not the only one Rhino, im lucky if i can get more than 4k and i thought it wouldnt get worse when they dropped me from 30k to 8k :(
I can upload at about 12-15k max.

Does any1 in Durban actually have any international BW???? I cant hardly open this page, it timed out twice before I was able to open it~!!

It looks like the Speeds for Sentech locally are fine I tried Rodent's speed test 3 times and all 3 times I got over 220kbits/s but international is snail speed at 30-40kbits/s OKAY Sentech our local bandwidth is Better now work on the INTERNATIONAL!!

Inverness is supposed to be up and running in test mode, but I've had no luck
accessing it. I've tried it on sectors 0 and 120.
(I'll try again later this evening)
As for disconnects.... yes, still there on BOP, but varies wildly from day to day.
(Ranges from every few minutes to every 5 hours or so)

ive just got mywireless yesterday, and i also connect to BOP @ 30% or so. problem is that i get disconnects like you do (obviously), but my speeds also are about 2k (local or international, doesnt matter) and thats in total, not per download.

what are your speeds like? are they working to fix the tower or is that a dumb question?

Tempest, the BOP disconnect issue started in the middle of June.... and although it has improved slightly, has never gone away. I had been in direct communication with Fastcom over this ... but without any success. (In my opinion they simply don't appear to have the people, capacity or inclination to solve anything right now). If it was not for ProAsm... I would have thrown in the towel long ago.

As for speeds... yes. BOP is quite frankly unusable right now
even for local use. Last night was VERY bad!

Umm.. According to the call centre, there are towers in durban that have not yet been, or are currently still being upgraded with all the new stuff.

Can any1 confirm this?

Proasm, any idea why speed has dropped so much so quick ?

From the last discussion we had with ProASM the upgrades in KZN are finished .. obviously his response would be authoritive here ... I believe KZN was one of the first areas to be completely upgraded...
 
Well not according to the "2nd level" ....... How can a constant 1.35k int download be "udgraded" ?

The whole country's Towers have all been upgraded, including Inveness and Rockford (Phoenix).
Inverness is not on yet dbnnet - maybe early next week.
Sometimes I think the "call center" live on the moon [:)]
Oh and btw, rtv, Durban was the last, this time round [:)]
The slow speeds in Durban have nothing whatsoever to do with the towers and this problem should soon be sorted as some of you know.
