Durbanville ADSL Users (Your feedback needed)

I think a good example to give them is to use their own guest accounts on your line and show them the speed results from saix.net as indication that it's infrastructure related and not ISP related.

Those that don't know ( ADSL settings )
Username : guest@telkomadsl
Password : guest

I've also noticed issues from 7pm onwards, but also over weekends. Basically non-business times, I would say.

It is def not ISP related, I've tried different ISP, same issue. I also had slow speeds on saix.net using the guest account.

You can reference my fault if needed - 288CWK020313. Was raised on March 2. And off course closed on March 2.

Thanks Ashtop will add your fault report to the list

nice to see you are so active with this Lino, thank you.

I've almost lost the plot with this by now.

I've noticed they have been doing some digging and stuff around the telkom boxes on the corner across the Pick n Pay by Graanendal, I HOPE it has to do with them fixing the problem...

Its so bad now, that even this time of the morning on weekends I get poor DSL performance.

I have heard that Telkom are actually busy upgrading the infrastructure in Durbanville at the moment. Ironically between having a telkom engineer at my place and changing ISP's my performance has improved.

Having said that I am going to still pursue this until we get some kind of official response for US ALL

im going to cry :'(

i just want to relax and play a game on my own PC....

Oh yes, it would be good to mention for those with the same problem. Telkom have discounted my latest bill because of the complaint I raised with their accounts department because of this. You should have the same done.

My connection started acting up the weekend and I'm having horrible speeds via my own ISP and Telkom's guest account.

I logged a ticket via my ISP and will load the Telkom ticket as soon as I get one.

Please add this reference number.

56BWK061212

Apparently there is a general outage and is being attended to by Telkom.

Thank you!

Will now be faxing Telkom as there is no reply to my email

Telkom contacted me know to say that the congestion issue has been sorted out? I have informed them that I along with others are still having an issue.

They have booked an engineer to come out to my flat on Saturday to investigate.

I've not had issues lately, so it is quite possible. But being intermittent it could also just be a good timing from my side.

It was touch and go yesterday. In general congestion seemed under control, but I did see it go up a couple of times for short periods. If I can go a week or two without issues, I'll be relieved and convinced it is sorted. On day 5 now of good service in general.

I haven't heard anything from them, but testing right now, it's pretty much max speed.

Using MyBB's speedtest local

Test conducted on 19 March 2013 7:10:58 PM SAST

Download Speed: 3652 kbps (456.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 427 kbps (53.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 60 ms

215am and my pings are fine...

phoned them earlier tonight or last night should i say, the guy i spoke to, clifford, said its part of a bundled fault or something like that. could not tell me what is happening with it, who is in charge, who deals with it, who assigns what.

Fantastic looks like the problem is back and worse than ever before:

384CWK140313

I will be phoning, re-emailing, faxing again tomorrow to Telkom to once again remind them how awful our Exchange's are in Durbanville getting fed up with this rubbish!
