Duromine diet pills

@boerenooi I've been following this thread, especially the type of exercise that you are doing. I'm afraid that you're not going to get the results with what you're doing because that's just all cardio. You need to do high intensity interval training; that would not only speed up your metabolism but will help you to build quality muscle; the more muscle you have, the more your metabolism will increase. Concentrate on gaining muscle instead of losing fat because losing fat will come as a natural result of gaining muscle. And stop watching the scale and watch your body; muscle gives you shape - you should feel things like your clothes fitting looser.

I can't believe that no one have said this yet because it's so obvious.

So what do you eat during weekends? How much do you drink and what?
Do you overeat at these braais?
I'm a fairly slim guy and a naughty weekend sees me gaining 3+kg in water retention and whatnot. That's almost 5% of my total weight. It'll typically disappear by around Wednesday of the following week.

My wife doesn't eat between 8am and 7pm. Just plenty of liquids. At night she eats pretty much whatever she wants. She's been doing this for the lady couple of years while exercising regularly and intensively and she's reached her target weight and has been able to keep it there.

Weekends we either eat out. Try new restaurants. Indian food, chinese, sushi, or braai. At a braai I normally buy steak (rib eye is my choice of meat) I'll have that with a piece of garlic bread and whatever salads are served. If it's potato or pasta salad, I'll just have a small serving of that. This is not EVERY weekend, but most weekends. I drink Champagne. I'll normally have a whole bottle to myself. Stopping that **** right away to help with my weight loss.

What is "high intensity interval training"?

What is "high intensity interval training"?

In short, it's resistance training aka weight training, interspersed with short breaks of cardio. You can actually build up an exercise programme doing this. Also, with HIIT, it's been proven that you can burn fat for up to 48 hours after you've exercised, because that's the extent to which it increases your metabolism.

Can you do this at a normal gym or do I need to join a crossfit or something like that?

What is "high intensity interval training"?
Several sets of short bursts of massive intensity, after a warmup followed by a cool down. I use it for cycling and running. Depending on what you want to achieve, you would for example sprint for 30 seconds as fast as you can, and then for 4min jog very slowly. This would be repeated 5-10 times. The exact mechanism at work isn't perfectly understood but it is thought that calcium structures in your cells are broken down by the trauma, causing additional mitochondria to develop.
The results are undeniable though. I've read papers where something like 3 hours a week of interval training resulted in performance increases similar to those doing in excess of 10 hours per week of endurance training.

Actually skipping breakfast is good for you. The idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day is a lie put into your head by the cereal companies.

Everyone thinks you need to eat food to get energy. This is only partially correct. I can go for 20-24 hours without eating and still have energy. You think that your energy levels correspond with eating much more than they actually do. The problem is, right now, your body is used to surviving off food and not off your body fat. If you start fasting, you will feel light headed and dizzy for few days. I did.

The way I think about it is, your body is more like a battery. When you eat, some of the energy in that food is immediately used. What cannot be used is stored as fat. Insulin is responsible for this storage. When you haven't eaten for a while, your insulin levels drop and your body starts using fat as fuel.

So, when you eat, you are just topping your energy levels up, which includes your fat storage. You don't have to eat every second of the day. Your body is cleverer than that - it isn't suddenly going to shut down if you don't feed it every 5 minutes.

EDIT: For a healthy lunch, I'd recommend some plain (unflavoured) single or double cream yogurt mixed with some nuts, fruit and berries. Its easy to make and pretty tasty. You could even add some honey as long as you don't add more than a teaspoon or so.

This just sounds like banting again... or is it more Paleo?

No, it's more paleo but we actually just call it natural foods i.e not processed and in a state as close to how it's found in nature. It includes healthy fats like full cream grass-fed butter, coconut oils, nut oils, olive oi, and wherever you can get natural oils from. There's no portion control - you're meant to eat until you're satiated.

I'm following it for the health benefits - don't need to lose weight as I'm fairly lean. But, I've seen other people successfully lose weight and totally changing the shape of their bodies by combining it with HIIT.

And then what do you add to make it liquid? Coconut milk?
Just water. The blended avo makes it creamy enough. Add a sprinkle of sea/himalayan salt to add some depth to the flavor if need be.

I feel great if I skip breakfast. It is very much something I do out of habit rather than neccesity. What's cool is it also provides a window of daily fasting, especially if you've had dinner early the previous night you can get a good 16 hours fast by the time you eat lunch again.

This fasting sounds interesting. What do you eat when you actually eat?

When I fast (16-20hrs, missing a meal), I find myself anticipating eating good, whole foods. I eat whatever I feel like making on the day - lunch is usually an assortment of vegetables with olive oil or grass-fed butter, maybe some lentils, seeds, nuts, some stir-fried mixed mushrooms etc. I don't count calories in any way :).

When is the first time in the day that you'll eat? Or maybe I should ask: What times in the day do you eat?

If I'm doing some kind of intermittent fasting then I'll skip dinner because it frees up my evenings to do other things & I just find it easier. I'll wake up and eat breakfast around 09:00, lunch at around 13:00 and snack if I'm hungry, but won't eat anything later than about 17:00. I'll often wake up and not be hungry at all - can quite easily go through till lunch the next day without eating. Snacks are usually fruit or coconut oil with ground chia & flax seeds stirred though with whatever else, left to harden in the fridge.

Might not seem like a lot, but a 16-20hr fast begins to readjust your notions of hunger and I begin to realize how often I eat because of habit or stress. It also makes sense to give the body time out from constantly burning energy on digestion and allow it to get on with other maintenance tasks.

I eat between 12 and 8 every day. It varies, but usually that. Sometimes I break my fast at 7:30 and have my last meal at 8:30.

EDIT

Completely agree with saor

After you do intermittent fasting for a few days, you realize that you dont have to be eating all the time. That a lot of the signals you get to eat are just psychological. You realize how dependent you were on food, and how you often reward yourself with food. I still do reward myself with food, but less often than I used.
