Possible. SANRAL argued that the extra lanes and improvements combined with the fact that more people may opt for lift clubs because of the tolls should reduce congestion.

Get it through your brain, this has ZERO to do with congestion and serving public interest. They are trying to privatize the roads and make PROFIT from it!!!!!!

We'll form the lift clubs when they give us exemption for doing so.... just like they did for their buddies in the private taxi industry.

They were looking for all sorts of excuses, same with the Gautrain.
At least the Gautrain gives me a choice.

When you toll the busiest road in the country, in the financial capital because you wanna pocket lots of money your not going to get my cooperation.

I actually agree with the protest in principle and if I lived in GP wouldn't pay either. It is the lies and misinformation that go with the protest I don't agree with. I do agree the government needs to be taught a lesson for thinking that the middle class is an unlimited cash cow they can milk forever.

Why should we have to jump through their hoops.
They should have just made it a law.
Cars with four or more people (or cars that are full) should get a discount.
They keep going on about how other countries are all doing the tolling thing... well then let them go the whole hog and give us the discounts that those countries have for car pooling.

The problem is the offramps and on ramps. The congestion is not caused by traffic flowing on the freeway, it's caused by people getting on and off. No amount of extra road surface will cure that.

There needs to be more offramps between beyers naude and rivonia offramp.

And I was wondering if there is a market for Dummy eTags, so when you get stopped in the near future at roadblocks, the Piggys don't give you a load of cr@p about not having one.

I would not take kindly to a brick through the window though...
