Sasol is a public company and anyone with money can buy in (I suspect their shareholding information is available freely in their reports). If the government has shares there then they invested like anyone else can, actually Sasol don't have a very good relationship with the government. Trevor Manuel did have a bit of a storm with them and even suggested imposing a windfall tax on them when he was still fin. minister.Sasol is however coining it... and who are Sasol's major shareholders? (I honestly don't know, but I assume the government and/or the ANC's investment crooks have a large stake)
