That would be amazing but by observation:

20: 7k
25: 10k
30: 15 - 20k
40: 20k plus

What kind of poverty spec industry are you talking about here, call centres? Other than the R7k at 20 (just starting out so I can understand that), those other value are depressing, I would probably kill myself.

I was doing R7k while still a student... in Bloemfontein of all places. At 25 I was doing more than what he wants at 40 :( So sad.

Cape Town has better salaries than where? :wtf:

Last I heard they were 30% behind GP.

/waits for JStrike

You are right. Higher salaries, lower cost of living, higher chance of joking to death or die early in GP :p

That said, rent over here is getting ridiculous

minimums....

20 - R20k/m
30 - R40k/m
40 - R60k/m
50 - R80k/m

That seems about right but I think saying "20" depends on when you start working as this can differ wildly between someone who drops out of school and has 4 years xp at 20 or someone who is still studying. I think 25 - 20k/m is more realistic.

When I moved to Jhb I tripled my salary in less than two years, so I think I caught up nicely.

Experienced something similar. When I moved out of my junior position I just short of doubled my salary. When I moved into a senior position there was another immediate double jump. Marked improvements since then. No doubting that there is money in Joburg, it's the reason why I won't move down to CT or (shock and horror) Durban until I emigrate.

My salary has sort of hit a plateau lately. Besides, the work is starting to get tedious and not challenging or mentally stimulating. Might be time for a significant change in scenery...

Similar. Moved to JHB from PE and salary basically doubled overnight.
Yup. Bloem -> jhb doubled my salary (actually a bit more). 6 months later I got a 40% bump. A year later I got a 30% bump. Now it's 10% per year if I'm very lucky.

To Pretora... about a 60% increase. 2 years later I was back!

...don't understand. Why, if you are moving away from GP and you have so many options, will you move back to PE when even Prieska has got more going for it.

Gross, but even if the salary ranges you mentioned are nett then they're still a bit low.

Edit: R30k nett is around R39,000 gross. I know many people in their mid to late 20s doing R40,000 gross ctc monthly.
