Someone know what the easiest way to do this is???

I guess I need to get the cd-key first, but I cant find it on the machine. I think its in the registry somewhere, but then I need to verify it.

The machine doesnt have internet, so that could be a problem.

any ideas

thanks for the help :)

There is a program you can download - worked well on XP, and the 'newer' version works on 7 as well, name escapes me... Jellybean something or other... but I think you need a 'registered' version to get 7's keys (includes Office 2010 etc)

Damn it... name is on the tip of my tounge!!!

Download Hirens Boot CD.

It has an app that locates software keys :)

I did this verification when I swapped the motherboard (Sandybridge). It's a very complicated process involving numbers - lots of numbers that you have to type in.

These are the numbers I found my side to activate via telephone .... not sure if they work anymore

(011) 361 7000
0801 43 43 43 (Tollfree, but engaged most of the time :( )

The 011 number works, but still redirects you to the 0801434343 line. Incidentally, I always manage to get onto that one no matter what happens.
