Easy Equities good or bad?

Yeah. I also see that the Education academy videos - may be at a cost later on.

I think we all should bombard their service teams with Thrive related queries and force their hand.
Agreed. They just built their first hoop/hurdle. It's going to get more convoluted over time. They learning from Discovery, FNB, et al!

What is the reason for your concern about other clients' reactions to this change?

If putting R1 in is a concern to forfeit a R25 fee .... Just saying.

I read how people complain about doing things, or jumping through hoops.

I watched all the thrive videos this morning and it took me 4 min to complete and get all "thrive certificates".

The reason why I asked ... Moving now accounts to save R25 to put R1 in ... (Well, everyone to their own). Then the new platform starts to ask a fee also ... and the loop just continue's

All they had to do was say- deposit any amount in and make a single trade and you avoid paying account fees

By tying it to their shitty thrive program that literally no one cares about, they've made their intentions clear

I fully agree! R1 its all it takes per month, into ANY account of your choice

So do you have additional hoops to jump through if you have an easy property and usd account?

So much smoke and mirrors
It's almost as if Charles came up with this while on a bathroom break and implemented it 5 mins later

Not really. I have the USD and AUD accounts but not the property one

You can enable your ZAR account, and do a R1 EFT manually (making a debit order might cost more in banking fees)

I set up an autotrade and debit order for R1 on my zar account
But the day they add any additional requirements (like watching videos) is the day I'm out

I wish somebody would write a spreadsheet to simulate the total costs of various user habits with all the available stockbrokers offerings

Listening to the podcast ... if you MAX your TFSA ... also ZERO fees (that a new thing added to the list). Just FYI

That property account is POS.... can only get out on certain dates, etc...fortunately one coming up now again, considering I don't get emailed when its happening.

The fact that these guys are still coming up with the rules after making this public is telling of what it'll become.
