Easy Equities good or bad?

Apparently you can avert this by making an auto deposit of R1 per month.
you need to have a net positive deposit i.e. just deposit more than you take out, but that only covers the thrive fee

the RA fees are entirely separate and like Money Rehab guy above it pisses me off that none of that is transparent or explained, it is hidden deep in the fine print and even then not articulated properly

bottom line: EasyEquities is very expensive to have an RA with and they slowly erode your capital to pay for those high fees by selling shares, mine happens to be invested in a unit trust with plenty of cash allocation yielding interest, in a sane investment vehicle they'd just take fees from those proceeds instead of actually selling units

Purple and Webuycars for me. Got in at the right time, but didn’t go in with conviction money.
bitcoin, and I'm balls deep, but everyone moaning about conviction money should stop to consider if they would have had the stomach to hold that investment through the ups and the downs

the more you are exposed the more likely you are to panic

Just a shout out to the absolute bellend retards at EasyEquities for a platform that is run by blind chimps looking for food in banana factory....and starving to death.

They should all be fired for stupidity

Their link (on both the app and website) to submit a support ticket is broken. Currently the only way to contact support other than messaging them on their social media and hoping for a response. For a platform holding client assets, this is shocking. I've decided to move to a serious brokerage and not this clownshow. I have been with them the last 5 years, but I've now had enough

It really is a stupid platform lets be honest... now if you look at Absa and Std bank they're identical, the layout, colours etc etc... coincidence? I think not

Imagine want to buy R50k worth of a stock and being limited to some arb amount of R551 per transaction! Then go onto another stock and the limit is different and so on and so on... how about make the limit the amount of money you have like any other brokerage?

And don't even get me started on fees.
Why can't their boss and IT man sit down and say, "hey this isn't logical how one goes about this, lets make it logical"

NOPE! they sit down with donuts and say, "let's make this retarded, do your best!"

All these companies are a joke and a money making scam.

Interactive brokers?

The limit on the purchase amount is whack. I suspect it has something to do with their exposure or risk or whatever. I donno.
I just send a mail to the trading desk and give instructions to buy. Works quite well. Not ideal, but wtf can you do.

it can't be because I have to do 100x individual transactions <-- I'm dramatising but I have done 10x before! so the final amount is the same

imagine wanting to buy a share and then having to email a company with an automated response that says "we will try and reply to you in 5 days!"

I owned Nepi rockcastle a while back... wanted to sell it as its done and dusted, nope platform would not allow me to sell it, says I must contact them.. something to do with the stock delisting etc etc... their response is "it seems fine from our side..." after I sent them a screenshot of the denial of sale and saying, "contact EE etc etc"

To the chap would mentioned IBKR <-- yes excellent and quick and easy platform with almost zero fees <-- South Africa thieves should learn from this

I've got a negative balance in my TFSA. I made sure to leave money in my main EE account just in case but it looks like EE decided to take the fees out of the TFSA. Does anyone know if this affects your R500000 limit?

No it does. Had a psg tfsa also, where fees were charged. So no. The R500k rule is for incoming money only

My email orders have been concluded within 20 min so far every time. Toss way to do a deal but ja.

What other options are available to us peasants? And what other platforms are available to trade actively on? As EE is more of a longer-term investment platform imo.

I have an IBKR account, but afaik it's only USD based?

When I look at, for instance, Sasol, I get this:

And then something like Choppies:

BUT, and I think it is relevant.

There have been times when I placed big orders via the trading desk that went through in one transaction.
Then, like my recent Choppies order, they executed about 15 orders just to get to 50k shares.

So their system seems messed up. Wtf would it work like that? Even on their side.
