I'm looking at purchasing some second hand PC parts on Ebay.com. Has anyone used the 'eBay International Shipping' option from there before? I'm asking because if it is going to go through SAPO the stuff that I'm buying is probably going to disapear into thin air. :crying:

Does it go through SAPO when you use the eBay International Shipping option?

Surely you can buy 2nd hand pc parts in SA...

Carbonite is a really good start, for example..

Looking for low power CPUs (very rare in SA) .... loadshedding
Why not just downclock your cpu..ie have a downclocked profile for shedding

That is what a T model cpu is just normal cpu limited to a lower base mode freq , but will boost higher if used with a. Better. Cooler than what they are normally paired with and use more power again and if the boost freq of the T is the same as normal cpu it would mean no power saving at all since it will boost under use

The same power savings can be had , with the gpu too by dragging the max power usage slider in msi afterburner, down as low as you are willing to go ,ie find the sweet spot where gaming fps is still acceptable but sips a lot less power , ie you may find 80% the performance with 50% power usage , having vsync enabled will also save a little bit of power as the gpu aims only to supply frames at the rate your screen can refresh never more

Sure if not under strain idling the cpu will save power as the cpu usage is low it will return to base freq

Have not used ebay recently

If shippers use economy international shipping , then yes it gets handed over to sapo

The customs handling fee is cheaper ie used to be R40 ish (while couriers have higher customs handling fee)
And it takes more than a month

And i believe certain economy bag shipping methods the ones wish sellers love to use have gotten another levy R20-30 (outdated info maybe)

I bought roughly 10 things via ebay in the last 2 months. Different shipping methods, its totally out of your control

Some are delivered directly. Some via PO and taxes added
