Elden Ring

Started a newly rolled character to play in between my sessions in GT7.

If you want a challenging build try something that uses dual wielded daggers WITHOUT bleed. It's not for sissies.

How do you close the gap and do you use ashes? I converted my daggers only into dex/faith/arc...

I am considering a non 'summon ashes to help' run at some stage.

This the first time I'm dashing through areas/abusing shortcuts with a view to pick up the gear I need/think I want.

For now, since I'm still early in the playthrough, I've stuck with Quickstep. I'll be off to Dragonbarrow shortly to pick up Bloodhound step, but may have switch to something with some range to do in the Night's Cavalry that drops it.

I suspect the build is only going to become viable around the mid-way mark once I've got access to other ashes and the ability to start playing with affinities.

A no-summon run is a must I reckon. I nearly managed that in the previous one, only resorting to using a summon ash for Malenia and Radagon/Elden Beast.

All I read from that is: 'we like easy mode + move button'

Still I would admit that I have a move stick, that is bloodhound step on either parry dagger or that "mise-wtf-name" dagger with the 140 crit. Which makes moving through shitty areas like lava, rot or cast on the run a lot easier. Pretty much like in this vid

Also work wonders if you want to go and dbn-looter a few things spree.

No man! Fsck!

How is upper Caelid 100X harder than the rest of Caelid, not that the area is a walk in the park but still it seems like Black Blade Kindred is on meth or something!

. . . and those birds FFS!

Haha I left upper Caelid initially and came back for it later.

I hit Volcano Manor last night, and oh my God did it reinvigorate the love I have for this game. I back tracked to finish up in Altus Platuo to finish up with that area first before I move back.

I finished the Consecrated Snowfield last night. The whole area is rather annoying. I love the game and love so many areas but man, I don't want to give anything away. Definitely my least favourite area of the game.
