Electric gate motor problem

Hey guys!
Also have an ET500 with a strange issue. Yesterday, upon arriving home the gate opened fine, but when closing it it just stopped. I then pressed the remote again while walking towards the gate and heard it beep a few times (didn't catch the exact number). I then unlocked the motor to perform a manual close. After doing this, the gate beeped and then after pressing the button, it beeped 4 times.

When I press the remote, I can hear the relay click and I see the "st" light flicker. But the motor doesn't activate. It doesn't beep again until I unlock and re-lock it. Then it beeps 4 times on the first button press and nothing after. The motor spins freely when in turn that little thing on top by hand. Any clues on what might be the issue here? :crying:

Try this.
1. Close the gate
2. Put the gate in manual mode
3. Open the gate halfway
4.Re-engage the automatic mode by closing the motor
5.Press the button to open the gate.

It might work, sometimes it does not catch properly or the sensor is not picking up something

The number of beeps is usually what the resistance is set to as I recall, which is 1 being lowest and 5 being highest.

4 beeps would mean it’s then already set almost at its highest to ignore any resistance.

Something to try is to open the gate halfway and then set the programming jumper (two pins next to the dip switches) and push the button once it will then very slowly close which will set its limit and then very slowly open and set the other limit.

Take the jumper off and see if it works now.

This is assuming of course you have the reed switch on both ends of the gate which controls the limits and this is in plate properly.

Something else to check is that where you have multiple rails that there no problem at the “gaps” where they join. I have on the past have the bolts where the rails attach looses a bit and then the gate would stop at that gap between them.

Also you did lock it back in place fully after switching it to manual? It won’t do anything if it isn’t locked onto the gear.
