Hi There. As part of a research project, I've been given permission to mount a weather station on a cellphone tower in Mozambique. Does anyone know if I need to take safety precautions wrt limiting exposure to electromagnetic radiation while on the tower? Would transmission perhaps need to be switched off? Or can anyone perhaps provide contact details of who I could speak to re. this?

Thanks.

We have our CPF radio transmitter/repeater on a very very high tower and the main MTN installer/manager has been up there a few times and so have I with him. He never mentioned or warned of anything so IMO I wouldn't worry if it's for a short period.

Thanks for info - seems like it will be OK for short durations. Unfortunately local Moz technicians aren't responding to my queries....

Just make sure you're vaccinated.

but if you really have to climb it .live .
strap a chicken to your head gear if its cooked when you get down you wont need a vasectomy later on in life.

they cant respond .they too busy searching for their balls to scratch them.

There should be a safety briefing before you climb anything and probably a document or two to sign otherwise they are opening themselves up to legal issues should anything happen to you.

I would be hesitant to just climb it if they say it's ok.
