Engine Knock after 2 weeks. (CPA)

so all the dekra stuff is absolute garbage, wont get anything, no CPA, no nothing, it explodes, well sorry buddy.

Basically. The dekra stuff is to give the potential buyer "knowledge" so that when they sign that there is "nothing" wrong with the car and they accept it, they can't blame WBC afterwards. At least, that's my understanding of it.

Well I will take a 10 year old car, drive/rev the **** out of it in 1 day to f the engine up and then I can claim from the dealer?

Yes. That's why they have a mark-up and people still buy from them. The peace of mind of knowing that if it blew up, you'll have recourse. Otherwise, everyone would just buy and sell privately not so?
Also, you take the chance of revving the crap out of the car and it dying one day after the legal cover ends, then you're up a creek.

So it was driven empty? Putting oil in after you hear the knock is about as useful as stripping a nut and giving it a quick half-turn back

No it wasn't empty, but close. I just added oil hoping it would help, I don't have any knowledge of these things so didn't know it was knock until confirmed by someone else. Just knew it was not supposed to sound like that.

wrx sti?
Cannot recall if it was rods or something else engine related as a common issue with them. Putting stronger rods was a common necessity for the older sti.

All standard internals are strong enough. Until you drive like a Demon out of hell..

True, but its very seldom that you will see people buying those to drop off the kids at school lol.

WBC sells under two models. The one is normal retail to which CPA applies and then they sell on the auction model which is 100% sold as seen with the owner taking the responsibility.

The hide this in the fine print. The Dekra means very little when it comes to internal defects on engines and gearboxes etc. Dekra doesn't test for that. Remember, it isn't a mechanical inspection, rather a roadworthy. They report on what they can see.

Read the reviews online about their "auction" model.

They don't hide anything, most probably people are lazy to read, there's actually a part that refers you to their tetms of sale and fees that are applicable on the same page of the advert.

Yes, I'm considering getting forged internals because this is a common issue with these cars.

Edit: it's just WRX not STI

The CPA is a good act but I suspect you're going to be subject to the goodwill of the selling dealer.

What exactly does this mean?

For more info, the check engine light came on within 200km of driving the car home. Steering rack started leaking the following week and a week later this happens.

That's 2 major defects within 2 weeks. I'm sure I have a strong enough case to ask for a refund if they refuse to pay. Also I have a paper trail of all these issues.

the 2.5 stis ie from 2006 upwards had ringland failures.99% of owners that have the 2.5 motor rebuild them with forged internals.
