Blues agree Lukaku deal
Anderlecht striker set to travel to London for medical
Anderlecht have announced that they have reached an agreement with Chelsea for the sale of highly-rated Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

LUKAKU DEAL AGREED
Posted on: Sat 06 Aug 2011
An agreement has been reached with Anderlecht for the transfer to Chelsea of striker Romelu Lukaku.
The move is now subject to the player passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.
Speaking after the win against Rangers, Andre Villas-Boas said:
'He [Lukaku] is a very interesting young prospect and we have to be able to position ourselves to be able to get this kind of talent.'
The son of a former Belgian professional, Roger, 18-year-old Lukaku was born in Antwerp in May 1993, and joined the Lierse academy as a 10-year-old, scoring more than a goal a game in their youth team before being signed by Anderlecht at 13.
He signed a professional contract with the Constant Vanden Stock side on his 16th birthday, and wasted no time in making an impression on the first team, making his debut shortly afterwards and contributing 15 league goals in the title-winning 2009/10 season while still only 16.
Standing 6ft 4ins, Lukaku is a powerful presence with a dangerous left foot, and helped himself to 16 league goals last term, while also scoring his first international goals for Belgium. He has 10 senior caps.

Cesc Fabregas is so desperate to leave Arsenal for Barcelona that he has offered to give up more than £4million worth of bonuses.
- reckon he still wants to stay at Arsenal?

I don't think fans of any of the top teams can be happy with the business their clubs have been doing this transfer window.

Now we just need Gary Cahill then we ready. hear spuds are after lukas. we can maybe agree a deal with player plus cash for lennon.

I'm happy with United's business, especially after Cleverley's performance today.

If the Luk.aku transfer goes through, I'll be happy with the business done by Chelsea. The squad size rule and our current players salaries means that offloading certain players is difficult and we need to do it gradually. I think AVB is going about it the right way.

He did ok it was United's dominance that helped him along the way, Welback worked his socks off! Kudos to him if he can keep that up I think Macheda will have a touch benching season again.

Say what?

Don't you mean Arsenal?

No. IMO all the teams business has been poor. The premier league has only attracted one world class player so far

Manure has replaced two of the most accomplished players in the world with a 20/21 year old newbies

Man City have bought Aguero but they'll lose their linchpin Tevez

Chelsea's backbone are geriatrics.

Liverpool have continued what is now a club tradition buying 6/10 squad players for 3 times their worth

Arsenal are desperatly holding on too their two best players and no quality experienced players seem to be on their radar to replace them nevermind add to the strength of the squad

Spurs also are trying to hold on to their best players rather than strengthing their squad.

That can all drastically change in the remaining weeks of the window but I doubt it.
