Error 1721

Thanks, cant seem to find that anywhere online to download - does anyone have a link to this version ?

Busy trying to go through the horrible new website and see if by some miracle of science I can actually find the driver link for you, if not pm me and I'll ftp it to a website for you.

Seems the drivers are no longer on there site.

I'll upload for you and pm you a link.
thank you so much, i really appreciate this Astro

Before installing, Do yourself a favour and first uninstall all the vmc lite software, reboot and be dead sure all the stuff is gone.
Sorry it's taking so long, only getting around 20KB/S upload for some reason today.

have done that - I am sure it is all gone -

one question though - will i first install this software and then connect the modem as the modem obviously has its own software

Yes, also when you plug the modem in it will try and start the vmclite install, cancel that.

About 65% uploaded.

ok, downloaded the software fully and installed it on my windows 7 pc.

seems i am where i started again, this is what i get now:

Mobile connection not possible.

- Set your current mobile device as the default
device in the 'Manage Devices' view
- Ensure that no other programs are using your
mobile device and try again in a short while
- Delete the device in the 'Manage Devices' view,
add it back again, and then try connecting.

If this error persists, please contact Support
at your mobile network operator.

Support information:
RAS error code 633

The funny thing is - that it is the default device, there are no other devices , but still get the above when i re-add it and try to connect

Uninstall.
Be sure to uninstall drivers as well
Remove the vmc folder from program files
Restart the pc
Install the software
Plug in the modem (use a different USB port), cancel the vmc lite autoplay.

Reboot once it has finished installing drivers and then try connect from shortcut on your desktop.

Ok, I have done everything above, still the same.... really dont know why it is not picking up the modem

the modem driver keeps failing

Best would probably be to take your modem and notebook into a Vodacom Repair store for them to figure it out.

I have some sort of feeling there is something faulty with the modem?

Yea, have to agree with nuyork.

You can try mine if you like (Also in Pretoria) but only on Monday. Have a busy weekend ahead.

Have you tried uninstalling the modem from the device manager?

Have you tried uninstalling the modem from the device manager?

Do you mean the windows 7 device manager? or the vodafone device manager?

Astro - the modem works fine - I am using it on this pc to go online, it just wont work on windows 7 - so there must be a way of resolving this conflict.
