Eskom cannot take a joke

“This is a reputational thing. We are a professional organisation and some of these mails were obscene.”

That's the biggest joke of all!

What's the difference between SA and the Titanic? Titanic went down with the lights on. :D

Where can a get a good list of these Eskum jokes so that I can send these to all the Eskom email addy's I have and the ones I'll find on the net.

Pfft. It's entirely there fault. Professional organization... Some might doubt that...

2 New Competing TV Quiz Shows

eTV and the SABC both today announced their own local TV quiz game shows to take on the popular "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth-grader?".

The SABC has designed a show for local conditions, specifically for those functional illiterates who could not make the cut for the Fifth-grader show. It will be called "Are You Smarter Than An Eskom Director?" and will be aired weekly. The celebrity pilot episode featuring the SABC board has unfortunately been cut from the schedule with no reason given.

Sensing a further gap in the market, eTV is starting its own show for those who did not make the grade for the SABC show. It is titled "Are You Smarter Than A Cabinet Minister". eTV are currently sourcing a generator and will announce the program times when it again has electricity to broadcast.

Eskom loses sense of humour

It seems that the Eskom jokes doing the rounds are not very funny for our electricity supplier

An e-mail sent to employees states: "In terms of the Eskom Information Security Policy users shall not use any electronic communication facilities provided by Eskom to create, send, forward, store or display material that is fraudulent, sexually explicit, obscene, defamatory, racially or sexually harassing, threatening, unlawful, contrary to the rules of Eskom, the regulations of the appropriate Eskom ethics body or otherwise illegal.

"This is a request for Eskom employees that receive these jokes to forward them to group communications and under no circumstances should these jokes be circulated," it read.

Nope, Eishkom's [-]mail[/-] male server will receive written warnings and will then be subjected to a disciplinary hearing, and possibly suspended with full pay.

Geez...So they have enough time for this rubbish, but no time to fix their balls-ups?

Except if it's a white mailserver, in which case the job will be outsourced to a BEE friend of the company and previously went bankrupt trying to deliver coal to the power stations
