I have a server at Hetzner, polling amongst things, Eskom for load shedding statuses. I recently noted that the script report errors. Same script on my own machine at the same time works perfect.
I then loaded the loadshedding website and used private internet access's chrome extension to force connection through the VPN and Eskom's site stops loading.
Funny. I wonder why they block connection from foreign countries.
Might be to prevent hackers or that they hide info to the rest of the world?

From my experience of Eskom’s IT, it’s more likely just some config issue, or their servers were being pounded by Chinese/Russian/etc script kiddies and they just cut out all non South African sources. As the saying goes, “never attribute to malice that which can be explained by mere incompetence”.

You're missing a malice in there somewhere, swop it for one if the duplicate incompetence's..
