Eskom issues Gauteng network overload warning

Words have no power. You gotta go out and do something.
Words like this have power, people like TheChamp feed on words like this and then spews forth how great Eskom is on the public internet. And there are many like him. This enables Eskom to do nothing while people think they are doing something.

Well as Eskom continues to fall apart it will expand to more areas and eventually hit paying areas and me and you. That's what people don't realise. The real issue is Eskom's aging and deteriorating infrastructure and people suddenly paying won't magically fix that.
Sounds like another one of the doomsday prophecies, the real issue is the damage those who connect illegally cause to the infrastructure.

My moer is also overloaded.... and since I don't do opioids I have no other way out but to stick to Gin and Disprins.

The good news is I'm ready for load shedding reduction no power, in fact, I'm impressed they haven't been doing it already.
Well done Eskom.

SIDETNOTE: Stupid question but how does one get more gas bottles from the garage if you only have one to trade? Do you pay some kind of additional deposit or something?

 What have I done now?

What doomsday prophesies? It was predicted 10 years ago we would be exactly where we are today. It's predicted that in 5 years Eskom will be in a predicament they won't be able to recover from. In about 10 years we will be sitting with continually deteriorating infrastructure that can't handle everyday loads.

So far every single prediction has come true but those voted in by the "peepol" keep sitting with their thumbs in their arses.

Yes, I usually have 3 around during winter months and one in the summer. You just pay the deposit and get it back when you dont need it.

So if the grid in Gauteng collapses we here in Cape Town will still be fine right?
The grid won't collapse in Gauteng, this is a warning for the high density areas, ones that are down a lot anyway thanks up overloading.

And Eskom load reduction is not a Gauteng thing, are we ever going to be on the same page on this or it's time to give up?

The WC seems to be the only place not affected by it. So perhaps that's why they are bleating about it? Remember the WC think they are an island.

"Please don`t steal electricity, rather freeze to death. And if you do steal, then rest assured we will do nothing."

No need to freeze. People should be using LPG for heating instead of electricity.
That would also have the added benefit of reducing a large portion of the peak loads. Leaving a 4kW oven/stove on to heat your shack because you get unlimited electicity for free (theft) is a major part of the problem.

I can't see this ending well. Eskom's death spiral will just continue until the majority of their aging infrastructure is replaced by IPPs who are not going to bother supplying any free electricity to the townships.

Freeze to death in South Africa??? Please wear more clothes, get a thicker blanket, learn to use layers.
I've not used electric or gas heating in years.

Nope it doesn't, I've been trying to sort it out through the years, by buying weather stripping and such. But there is this miraculous things called long pants, jackets and blankets.

Power in Bromhof went out at exactly 8am as in the second it tucked over the power went out. Almost six hours later and not a single ****ing update from these useless city power *****.
