Eskom load limiting trial update

Sorry what

Who builds roads and infrastructure? Supplies water?
Sure the state of the infrastructure is not good, but it's all government supplied and maintained - If it wasn't to help you then it would not exist in the first place.

There's an argument (Which I'd support) to be made about the current government, but you can't say all government stuff is bad.

Lol.... the ANC building roads, infrastructure, water supplies? Let alone maintaining it.... f**k me! Never trust the government. Any government.

And if you're not home and they're on? Or if the Inverter batteries are low and its cloudy and the Sunsynk decides to use Eskom to charge because its not OFF.? They just forced all the country to move to inverters and batteries.. now we have to watch when they charge as well.
Well same as what would happen if you're not home and it's load shedding, flick no power for 2 hours. The Sunsky has an app and you can control it from there, but unless you've got it set to 50amps, you're more than likely not going to pull 2400w from Eskom to charge batteries.
The people who can afford it are already on batteries and inverters, the biggest is with those without alternate power sources is that when power does go off, they drain and when power comes back they recharge from Eskom. Now with 10amps from Eskom this actually limits that happening, as most people will not be using 2400w all the time, 2400w is actually quite a lot.
Also the load limiting happens on your load shedding schedule, which you should know by now, if you were going to be shed between 4pm and 6pm, you'll get limited instead. So if you want to be pedantic set timers for things. Or learn what your actual usage is.
On average most households actually use very little in normal day to day, the biggest users is geysers, stoves, ovens and such.

My dude.

I live in an area that has regular bursts and potholes - But they do eventually get sorted

Yeah I'm not happy that things are falling apart, but there are most certainly teams out there doing their best to keep things rolling, and it'd be impossible without some sort of government management.

Stockholm Syndrome dude. Believe me they are not your friend, even though they say so. You are nothing but a 13 digit number on an electronic system with 80 million of these numbers to them.

Oh, and while on the topic.... do you know the 4 real reasons why government build roads? It is not what you think....

1. To allow you to get to work and make money for them
2. To arrest you and get rid of you when the need arise
3. To help you in the event you get sick or injured so you do not die and they lose the income
4. So they can milk you additional taxes and fees for using it

Roads are not built for you to drive around, enjoy yourself and go hang out with friends.

A road is only built because a cadre must eat!

On paper load limiting is the better option long term, no more exploding transformers/sub-stations from being switched on/off, traffic lights should have permanent electricity, less cable theft as cables are always live.

Soon there will be no load shatting only permanent load limiting for the bottom feeders who actually pay for it!

Shack premium ANC little cadres will get free unlimited leccy and the DA voters with money will pay through their noses for a permanent trickle. This is going to work well for the ANC. Free unlimited leccy for their people, and fixed load shatting! Viva ANC will grow in popularity from this!

So I stay in a complex with 60 apartments..we have one Eskom main metre in the road but 60 sub metres where we are billed individually via metre reading company..how will load limiting work if 30/60 ppl are at home when the message comes through to switch off geyser and active in order to stay on 10amp?

The meter is put where the existing Eskom meter is - It's outside your property in a locked box.
Hmm where I live locked minisubs are a thing of times gone by. They are not locked. They stand with the door open. Free for all.

Not quite. Here we have a rotational schedule, depending on the stage we're on, with specific time slots. When a stage gets reduced or increased by a single increment we are usually added/dropped a slot. But should we jump two stages (up or down) then we get added/dropped two or more slots - unless we have a sub-station trip again, and get load-shedded as soon as the power returns!

Awesome, only need 2 amps, I will ask a neighbour if he wants to borrow the other 8
You can drop off the other 8 amps you not using with your suzuki soeper kerrie.

So much complaining. Currently you have 0 amps during loadshedding.
Why dont you want 10 amps during load limiting?
Because that will become the norm. Just limit the kak out of everyone, and then the problem goes away. Not a fix at all.

If they do that they should give us all the option to opt in or out via sms or ussd or some other clever move they can think of for electricity. If you opt out there are no basic electricity charges of any kind on your account. Opt in and you are fscked.

Pigs gonna pig.

Geysers, oven, stove, iron, welder etc.

Some of us don't live in tent.
Jip, I run at least 5 of those items concurrent, at any given time.

Cook the froggies slowly, feed them crumbs. Then feed them some less crumbs. They will worship the cadre master like the chicken that got it`s feathers plucked!

They have dumbed down 99% of the population so much over the past 30 years, this is not a difficult thing for them to do today. And, get away with it.

Anyone?

Gas, braai, braai, ironing is for wankers, gas.

So don't use eskom for anything that consumes a decent amount of electricity then you are OK with 10 amps.
