I didn't read through that whole thread. I simply mentioned what Eskom themselves stated.
If it saves you money, great. But I also think there's a big difference between a 1 person household and 4, like mine. My wife and I shower in the morning and the kids at night. There's just not enough hot water for 4 people at one time.

Well the savings are likely tiny anyway - was more objecting to the blanket statement. Anyway... One thing that is cool about some of the timers is the live temp readings.
