Eskom asks for massive 32.66% electricity price hike — report

Eskom has asked the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) for a 32.66% price hike, according to Sunday newspaper Rapport.

The report also stated that there was a secret meeting of the ANC’s parliamentary caucus on Tuesday regarding the country’s electricity crisis.

Yesterday I bought R100 electricity for a friend and she says it showed 42units!! 42!!
There is no way they are considering increasing it!!

That's about right, remember electricity works on tiering and that sounds like they are over 500 units.

You can't hide solar PV. The lack of electricity purchases will flag you as either a meter tamperer or a solar PV user which will trigger an electrical inspection.

Municipal bylaws give municipalities the right to enter any private property for the purposes of inspection, testing or maintenance. Denying entry can lead to legal action in which one can by fined, imprissoned or both.
