And that my friend is the reason we shouldn't have nuclear! It is a first world only solution. And even they **** it up!

Koeberg was located on an optimal location - determined by proper consideration rather than bull****
Koeberg has a disaster management radius that is properly structured to minimize impact and can support another reactor

Nuclear is a perfectly sensible approach to power generation when done properly, but the level of corruption on the nuclear moving forward agenda means that it does pose a VERY real threat.

Yesteaday, power was cut on 3 distinct occasions - over 4 hours in the morning, a similar amount of time in the afternoon, and just over an hour last night.

So, who's at fault - Eskom for not keeping to their schedules, or e-tv news in not updating their reports ?

I must say the City of Cape Town municipality has done a great job of managing the load shedding in the areas under their control.

They stick to their schedules as per their website. They phone the hospitals to check if their generators are running before their switch off their power. They communicate very well on twitter.

In comparison, the eskom serviced areas have been going through hell.
 
CoJ was completely wrong. They said 14:00-18:00, was out from about 10:00-14:00
 
Been out 4 and a quarter hours so far
 
We only get 120-140 minutes at a time.

although we may get it twice a day if we go into stage 3.

quite manageable from the residential perspective. My client's IT equipment does not like it at all.

Servers are not meant to be switched off.

I'm in a similar boat

My areas schedule doesn't correspond, last weekend it was 14:00 - 18:00 and this weekend (regardless of stage 2 or 3) it has been 10:00 - 14:00, schedule says I'm supposed to be off from 18:00 - 22:00 and again from 02:00 - 10:00 if stage 3

Then why do you want it to happen? Do you really think that will somehow force everyone to learn their lesson and pull up their socks? That everyone will suddenly base their votes on levels of good governance instead of emotions?

Get real. There are quite a few countries that have collapsed for different reasons and never recovered. SA would be even worse off than before
