Lots of messages asking how to apply for it etc. The average property price is around 2M and people arent paying their bills or getting big bills after estimates and struggling to pay. I was a bit surprised at how many were enquiring about the debt relief thing.

Load Reduction goes beyond just non-payers. These people are illegally connecting to transformers and switching stations that were never designed to handle the loads being placed on them. As a result infrastructure fails, needs to be replaced, and you and I foot the bill for that nonsense.

Load Reduction shields us from that.

Someone who is sitting in a house that is legally connected to the grid... that the utility is aware of and has planned infrastructure loads for, but that person is struggling to make ends meet and wants to work out a plan for payment, is a totally different scenario to lifetime leeches that connect illegally.

Even a bypassed meter is still catered for in the original provisioning of that transformer.

Yeah. Currently getting a job to upgrade a host of substations for a muni and the guy specifically asked for the ability to do remote switching. The communities block them from entering the substation to turn them off. So they want the ability to switch them off remotely from a laptop or phone.

The substations have those ancient analogue relays where you spin a dial to set the current setting. I was being made fun of for not knowing how the thing works due to my age. It's very ancient stuff. Impressed it still works.
