It looks like that farm attack report linked above was skewed to come to a certain conclusion (That both whites and blacks are equally the victims of farm attacks.):

Of the 126 victims only 56 (44.4%) were white, which was considerably lower than the annual percentage of 61.6%. The reason may be partly that in some cases a large number of (black) farm workers were present and were also held up while the (white) farmer was being robbed. They were therefore also regarded as victims. Of the 56 white victims, 11 (19.6%) were killed and 26 (46.4%) injured. Of the 68 black victims 3 (4.4%) were killed and 17 (25.0%) injured. Of the 6 females raped, two were white. The phenomenon that a greater proportion of white victims are killed or injured during farm attacks, was detected by the Committee on the basis of other statistics as well, although, as pointed out above, the December figures may be skewed somewhat because of the presence of so many ‘passive’ black victims in some cases."

In all the statistics, black labourers who were only peripherally involved and whose lives weren't at risk were included in the victim total to inflate the number of black victims and make it look as if whites weren't being targeted. It looks like the whites were the targets and any blacks who get in the way or try to protect their employers are killed or wounded out of neccessity.

I may have missed it but do they go into detail of why the murders and assaults of the white farm owners are as aggravated as they are? A perfect example is E.T.'s pants being pulled down. That is leaving an intentional message to farmers in the area.

It isn't really a conspiracy theory if the numbers are there in black and white. There is a clear racial bias in the murders and assaults.

The ages of 80 of the victims are known. Seven (8.6%) were under 20 years, 11 (13.8%) were between 20 and 39 years, 28 (35.0%) were between 40 and 59 years, and 34 (42.5%) were 60 or older. The youngest was 5 years of age and the oldest 86. (In two cases there were also babies, but they are discounted for statistical purposes.)

If the motive is robbery why murder babies? I also like the fact that they aren't counted as victims.

One also cannot exclude the possibility that some of those attackers who claimed that the attacks had been motivated by political or racial issues, did so in order to evoke some sympathy.

This sort of heresay and conjecture is further proof that the people conducting the study were highly biased against the idea that racial motives were behind the attacks. Why include something like this if you cannot substantiate it?

i never said education wasn't important, i pointed out that we're a unique country and that we're far off from where the other 2 countries were.

see? that's a much better report. i agree that some attacks are racial, but i've also seen people have the knack to put ANY murder as a racial murder. i think both sides are at fault here with trying to make up statistics and discredit statistics. i remember even one guy saying that he was upset with people inflating the farm murders but putting any kind of murder down whether it was racially motivated or not, or even nowhere near a farm.

i am starting to experience more black on white racism however, a few years ago i would have claimed it was hardly existent at all

It is the same report Lance and friends were referencing when they were trying to prove that farm murders aren't racially driven. The numbers don't lie, the conclusions and methodologies employed to reach them on the other hand are clearly flawed if you just look at the numbers.

Aside: I am uncomfortable about defending the AWB as if I was a member. I do NOT subscribe to any of their ideals and Terre’blanche was a nasty person. The AWB organization comprises paramilitary, neo-Nazi pricks but they were reasonable farmers (if stern taskmasters) IMO.

The AWB probably fed, sheltered and treated their laborer’s ailments (like any farmer in SA). They got the cast-off debris of the family. The chances of there being a farm school are also high. Not for any altruistic motive, but because they wanted an educated labor force (much more exploitable).

A hypothetical conversion (in Afrikaans).

He needs to know how to drive tractors, read maps, tools, plumbing, windmills, hydrology, build stuff, etc. He also needs to know how to shoot. He is probably the best at this stuff but he would not be the only one. Because of the farm school, he cannot blackmail his employer because he has scarce skills (they’re not scarce – there’s a school).

He skedaddles. Probably 2 weeks out from under the thumb of his employer. Sleeping in the bush away from his 6 nagging wives and their children. All male company. Lots of drinking and smoking dope at night. Heaven.

i don't have a disregard for history, i have a bigger disregard for comparisons. imagine comparing every girlfriend you have to the first girlfriend that cheated on you and saying it's only a matter of time. or job. or car. you would agree that isn't a healthy outlook right? but now you get people who are paranoid and people who brush it off. it's all about perspective. if you're comparing a situation now to a situation that happened in another country(with it's own history that built up to that point and another with differing and conflicting religions) then there are big differences, and looking at their history can only get you so far

That's not at all what people are doing. Staying with your first girlfriend that cheated analogy - most people won't think that all their girlfriends will cheat but they will look for the signs that finally allowed for you to discover she was cheating... be it used condoms, strange phone calls whatever those signs may be. You analyse the situation to make sense of it. That is exactly what people are doing.
