Eugene Terre'blanche murdered

Can't blame people for wanting to arm themselves in a country like this. There is something though in the idea of live by the sword, die by the sword.

We had a house break in early morning about a year ago, fortunately they didn't harm us. We're still not armed.
Yesterday I was tailgated by someone with road-rage, hitting the breaks helped but it could have gone the other way. Suggested to my passenger that maybe we need a realistic toy gun, decided not.

Yes, there's a danger not having a defensive weapon, but wouldn't really consider it unless we were living on a farm.
There's a potential jurisdiction dedicated to every preference, where that group is willing to put up nothing but their own money as individuals.

Collectivists prefer to put other people's money where their(the Collectivists') mouths are.

And then you pulled out your glock and pointed at him and said gtf off my property or I will shoot you!

Then
what happened?
Here's a few questions for you, what do you think happens when he leaps forward and stabs you or connects the shovel or pickaxe to your head ?

Secondly, I assume your family is inside the house, can you now 100% guarantee that after he has either killed you or severely injured you by stabbing you multiple times or has beaten you with the shovel or pickaxe he will not enter your home and do the same to your family?

Do you practice often with your firearm, what is the average time for the average Joe or Jane to draw a firearm from concealment and fire the 1st round accurately on target center mass ?

Now, calculate how long it takes to leap / lunge forward to either stab or to swing a shovel or pickaxe?

The intruder said "this isn't a spade, it's a shovel", to which Snek replied "I call a spade a spade!"

They then sat down and discussed clichés over a lovely cup of Earl Grey tea.
Anything but the real world, in front of you, hey vigras?

:giggle:

Or is the Sunday morning crumpets kicking in? Slow down, on those things, dude.... they could give you heart burn.

@NoStepOnSnek88 , about my argument - best to add that we don't have much considered of value, so doubt we're worth an armed robbery to most abusers. It's those with fancy cars and house that may be on the front line it seems.

@lexity , collectivisim is just another word for democratic groups. (In your case ones that may choose to separate.)

Tell that to the next 60 million people who trust their government into an early grave.

p.s. I said 'Collectivism' ... that's a proper noun.

Truly tragic. People keep choosing the system though, and many examples of it don't go that way.

You, of all people are telling me that I'm not connected to the real world? 🤔

I'm off for another crumpet. Time for you to go back to your pirate ship.

The year is 2026, I have a cordless hole puncher, thank you very much :p :p :p

@Brian_G I know your stance on firearms etc... this is not criticism or to convince or bait you in way, shape or form, just a friendly reminder or advice from a random dude on a forum, do NOT purchase or obtain a "toy" gun, because if it happens that you point that at a person who's carrying a real firearm he or she is within their right to shoot you, furthermore you can be arrested and charged for intimidation even though it's a toy gun, and lastly the blank firearms that fires a loud blank cartridge is actually illegal to possess in South Africa, due to the ammunition, because the blank cartridge still has a live primer to make it go bang, and only people with a valid firearm license is allowed to purchase live primers.

Yes, there's a danger not having a defensive weapon, but wouldn't really consider it unless we were living on a farm.
I'll always be an advocate to having at least one firearm, doesn't matter where you live in South Africa, because in the real world you'll still need to leave your fortress, work, go out, shopping, holiday, driving etc etc.

You're determined not to distinguish between the 2, incompatible kinds of democracy, aren't you, Brian_G?

Oh I would man, if the other type actually manifested. Then we could compare.

Or are you talking about BoR again? I certainly will always choose to have that, for all of us.

Unfortunately that's not always the case @Brian_G there's thousands examples on CCTV and testimonials.

Except if it means you might have to respect private property rights i.e. refraining from redefining theft when a group does it..

I remember in the earlier days, soon after the anc took over, there were lots of bad hijackings etc. Not sure if that's become occasional now, or just the press not reporting it, but word-of-mouth stories have got far fewer.

Thousands sounds bad, but our countries have millions, so maybe edging closer to regular statistics now?
However it is a very violent country, so there is that..
