Euros 2024

I don't care for England but I can't help but feel sorry for Southgate, just a little bit of luck and things could have gone his way. But he was up against a formidable opponent, the difference in class is clear.

He was lucky to even make it to the final. Luck can only last so long. He has a squad loaded with talent and hasn't been able to get them to play football together. His side only starts playing when they get into trouble.

They had enough luck and things did go their way this tournament.

They played better in the final than I expected...and Pickford did make some spectacular saves too.

But that save by the keeper and then by Olmo off the line to keep England from 2-2, was miraculous.

Now "Engalund" has to wait 2 more years to try again. By then it will be a nice round 60 years since they last won something...hahaha.

Luck and a fairly easy draw. That squad is insane on paper (other than the defence), and should be winning things, or have won something by now. Southgate is a terrible manager and should have been out of a job after the World Cup.

He did do better in the final with his early(ish) subs and dropping Tripps, compared to the rest of the tournament, but jirre the man is stubborn.

Kane needed to be dropped for Watkins or Toney, Palmer needed to start. Then there's players like Gordon who had amazing seasons but couldn't get a sniff.

was hoping england could finally exorcise their demons...but spain we good all tournament...

now to suffer southgate another 4 years...

Southgate is a joke, this tactics in major tournaments is do the bare minimum to qualify and qualify on the side of the knockout bracket to avoid the bigger teams. On paper England has one of the best squads in the world if not the best, he doesn't play to win, he plays not to lose
