I have recently moved to Honeydew Ridge. As luck would have it, according to the Iburst coverage page, our complex falls right the middle of a poor signal zone.

Where is the nearest iBurst base station to Honeydew Ridge, maybe my modem is on the wrong side of the unit?

Would anyone recommend getting an external antenna? I am not expecting 4mb downloads or anything but would love to stop using my phone as a 3G modem to get some sort of speed on our connection at home. I am of course willing to buy one but also need to know is it definitely going to work? Don't want to waste my cash!

Honedew ridge that close to me, if you install eyeburst make sure you connected our closest tower Proton.

If you aim your modem towards the checkers hyper on 14th ave (14th ave district shopping centre) that's more or less where it is

Ill try and see if i can get the correct GPS coordinates

Awesome that would be great. This already means my modem is in completely the wrong place...and I might need an external antenna. GPS co-ords would be great!

Will do so when home again! Thanks for the link!

I have an external antenna with a 5m cable, pm me know if you are interested. I travel in that area frequently. I used to stay in Sundowner, eventually gave up on iBurst.

Since I got iBurst i've been in poor signal areas. Got myself the external omni antenna and works great. I would def recommend it.

Hi,

How much are you selling your antenna for? I'm interested in buying it since I've just moved to an area where there's no coverage.

Sharon

You can get one from iBurst for R600 if I remember correctly, you can even try Poynting Antennas.

Hi everyone! sorry for being inactive for so long!!! Long story short... got home on the 15th to literally an empty house! Someone else liked our stuff more than my wife and I!:cry:

Sorting out iBurst has been a bit on the back burner since then. Anywho... I am back now.

Thanks for the co-ords. As soon as I have replaced all our kit I will try 'pointing' the Modem in that direction.

May take a few more days still, but will come back to you!

Hey

Let me know what complex you moved into, was it a new development?
I recently moved too and would like to know how the iburst worked out in the poor coverage signal to see if it's worth it for me.
Also in Honeydew.

Thanks

Alright, insurance and everything was finally sorted and managed to replace all our equipment. I have tried moving the modem to place it in best possible place for closest tower etc but TBH I have given up on iBurst in the area. I just think we in a deadzone as far as signal goes. A good mate, lives just down the road from us. His iBurst is perfect. I have managed to get my hands on a 3G router from my work and it is working like a champ.

Moved into Eagle Creek. In Emily Hobhouse Street.
